I was hoping for less combat in this one, as it was far too frequent, repetitive, and dull in the first one. These shots however, suggest that won't be the case unfortunately.

I loved the combat to be honest I really liked all the different weapons and especially the higher level pistols were fun

uncharted 2 is gonna be awesome. i can't wait for GDC'09, rumor says that the GOW3, killzone2 and uncharted2 devs are going to be giving seminars about developing games using the cell's SPUs, and ofcourse releasing new gameplay footage of their games. insomniac may also be officially announcing R&CTOD2.

You don't see many western games that make good use of color these days. Uncharted is a nice change of pace

Last picture, above the green box all the way to the rught there are what appear to be skulls. Just something I found interesting =p

Looks pretty great, Although I think the DoF is overdone a tad, although I am glad its good DoF, I cannot stand when devs use a bloom effect in or even as (Mirror's Edge anyone?) DoF

Actually this one is supposed to have more (and better) stealth and stuff, and the combat is being jacked up, especially the AI, which vertainly could use a lift.

I've no idea why they made a big deal of the new cover system...seeing as its all been done before

That's really non-fanboy talk.

Nice to know people like this game.

Needless to say I'd love a PS3 port of Crackdown or Earth Defense Force. I guess luckily for me, if I ever wanna try it the 360 is only £120, but if you want Uncharted 2 that's gonna need quite a lot of games to jusitfy the purchase of a PS3 :D

Anyway, I can't wait, more of a mix of shooting and platforming, with even more melee combat.

This game is stunning and possibly the most playable game this generation. If only it were longer.

sweetness.....sequel to one of my faves this gen. the ability to play stealthy should add some variety, not that i thout the game really needed it. cant wait, after killzone 2 this is probably my most anticipated game of 09...unless mass effect 2 shows its face, then consider it third.

You do realize that these screens are just as "boring" as any of the brown/gray games, right? They've just substituted the brown/gray with orange and yellow hues...but i guess noticing things like that is asking too much.

I would say pink and yellow personally, but I guess it doesn't matter

At least this color looks more natural and alive than a brown/gray scheme

Looks pretty great, I never played the full game of the original (only recently adopted a PS3) but I played the demo and it had potential. If the sequel improves on the mechanics of the original (especially close quarters melee, which was pretty broken) then it is definitely a winner...

Oh and I agree that the colour palette is nicer than the usual greys although the original was also pretty colourful anyway so I would have been surprised if Naughty Dog had jumped on the desaturated bandwagon.

Man, I always forget my darn password... Anyway, I loved the first one( for the most part). Drake is a great character and I am very interested in this one. I am, of course shocked that no one is screaming Bullshot( as is always the case with new, high profile releases).

Not much bullshottery at work here, the PS3's patented jagged shadows are in full evidence so I think these are legitimately in engine and untouched.

ps3's patented? dont you mean console patented. 99% of games have those crappy shadows...the first uncharted had some of the cleanest ones around at that time tho...

http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2007/322/revi...

individual leaf shadows all perfectly identifiable...even at a distance.

cant wait to see their snow tho, in an interview they said if they where going to do snow they're going to do it the best we've seen in a game...i can imagine it being like the water in the past game, where it sticks and slowly melts off leaving drakes clothes wet...

i just love ND attention to detail tho. even little things like drakes shirt creasing as he moves...simple, but it makes a world of difference in conveaying a sense of believability.

Not really. If you played Uncharted 1, you'd know full well that the PS3 is capable of this.

Actually, it has a similar, brownish hue that Gears of War 2 had at points. Kind of disappointed that Naughty Dog upped the saturation though there is still time for them to tone it down. That is, unless they went the MGS4 route and saturate level specific colors.

Apparently, Naughty Dog will be modifying their water engine into a snow engine, so it should have similar results. And I also like the creasing of the shirt as well.

Colours look great, screens look really good too, so all good from Naughty Dog, are there ANY news of a Jak & Daxter coming to PS3? Preferably NOT set in the future, the original was so good.
