Let's hope it won't come to that, although I doubt anything will change from the content stealers' side. Then I guess I'll have to part ways with gsy, sadly. Key and concept arts are already watermarked so I get them from other sites, but gsy is irreplaceable when it comes to HQ videos.

If we don't do it, we'll eventually have to shut down the website anyway. So either way, you'll lose I'm afraid, unless that guy finally realizes that he's killing us softly (which he never will because clearly he's just a selfish bastard). :(

The silver lining being that that asshole will have no place to get direct feed content from. ;p

Let me remind you all that we offer free download, there are no ads when you download a video from us, so we make no money from it. That guy on the contrary makes loads of money with his mega link. The best part, he doesn't have to spend anything to have servers like we do.

I will never stop to be amazed, how stupid and ignorant people are. Especially about online content. I hope You will get some satisfying solution for this, guys. But I really doubt, I will leave GSY just for watermarked videos.

i'm honestly fine with watermarks tbh. most sites have them, even poxy youtube channels, but you'd still offer the best quality video's so it's a non issue.

I never had a problem sourcing gamersyde, but I stopped caring after receiving repeated insults from the staff over here.

and just to be clear, I don't earn any money with the mega links, or with allgamesbesta itself (no ads or whatever).

Why are you still here? Your just as selfish as the guy stealing the videos. Why wouldn't you want to support these guys? Take a hike and get your content else where. What's the matter with people?

If you respected our work you'd get some respect. I am sorry to say I have absolutely none for you at the moment. You didn't source us even way before we started calling you names, so spare me the pathetic excuse. The very reason why we started to complain about you is because YOU basically almost never sourced us. Considering pretty much all the content you have is stolen, don't play dumb with us and don't try to make us the bad guys.

Besides, even sourcing us doesn't compensate the potential loss of visitors we suffer from. It's like you think Gamersyde is a press site where you can freely get content to run your own site. And don't tell me you're not making any money with mega and your website, because then, why would you steal the content we fight to find to hurt us so bad? It would be totally different if you had your own contacts to get the trailers, then it would be fair.

And what makes you think your watermark will stop your videos from spreading beyond your reach altogether exactly? If I may ask that is. What I mean is - will it even stop that certain person from posting vids watermarked by you?

it potentially won't. people are willing to stoop pretty low these days. but at least it's clear as day where the footage came from.

You are ripping off the guys from Gamersyde, so resorting to insults after repeated attempts to stop you is justified. Have a shred of respect and make your own content or source your own content. It has taken them years (I have been here for a significant amount) to build the reputation to get this quality of content and selflessly hosting it, then you just come through, literally steal it and host it yourself.

You are a disgrace to gaming community at large, and your shameless rips earn you the tag of chief bellend in my eyes.

It wont - their issue is with providing a source of the material, so wherever it went at least people will know where it came from.

Watermarks dont bother me one bit, and I think Gamersyde should watermark them, they deserve the credit for their hard work and dedication.

This situation is really bad for Gamersyde AGB. Why can't you also build up a repoire with publishers and grab HQ videos for allgamesbeta? This way, the gamer base could possibly recieve two sources of HQ videos instead of potentially losing, basically the only site, Gamersyde, which provides the most consistent content of HQ videos.

To be honest Driftwood, I wouldn't mind if GSY put watermarks on all it's videos. Not a problem. The lost revenue for AGB's behavior is, as you've already stated.

Driftwood and AGB, there's absolutely no way the two sites can settle their differences? I'm aware of there being a past that may have irreparably damaged any possibility of doing so. Just asking.

AGB you're stealing GSY's work for your own. Never been to allgamesbeta but do people also steal from allgamesbeta as well? Don't you car that someone may be using your original work/content for their own if that was the case?

Friends, we are all in the same camp here. Couldn't we swallow our pride and come up with a solution on this? If we don't give in in something, we'll not be able to help each other.

@AGB the worries of Gamersyde are righteous. They have costs/structures to maintain, so they need access and visibility from ppl. How could they keep running their work - which both you and I make use of it - if people don't come here?

@Driftwood the adjectives you're using to refer him will not help us reach a solution on this.

I have access to almost every press site and I publish HQ videos when they're available, but some companies just don't put up this kind of content (EA for example) and that's where Gamersyde uses its contacts among publishers to get them and their complaint is when I take these videos. Since my site is just a small, random gaming blog I really can't settle these relationships. Plus, I can barely speak english.

I will source again from now on, I know that maybe is not enough but not sure what else I can do.

In case if you still decide to watermark your vids (which I'm not a fan of to be honest), is it possible to watermark a vid for a month/halfyear or something for as long as it's new and remove the watermark (redirect link to clean version) after that time? Theoretically speaking of course.

I've absolutely no issue with the video's being watermarked. Ever since I found out about Gamersyde (a couple of years ago) I've been coming here. Not just for the video's, but also because of the community. The people here just talk and debate about the hobby they share. And unlike of the rest of the (toxic) gaming community, I actually like to read the comments here.

I'm not willing to play it nice after all these months he's been doing this, rarely crediting us. And again, we never spoke ill of him before we realized he was not crediting us. The time we spend to keep the site running, all the efforts Game2k has to make to get most of the trailers now, to see that we are again on the verge of shutting down is not making me very comprehensive. Just seeing him claim we started it is not helping either.

What you should do is bring something unique to your site otherwise why bother. I don't even download these vids but I've been following this site because I appreciate the way they cover the games. I like the lay out, their writing, point of view etc.

AGB, I know GSY's complaint.

There's no way to ask for this content from publisher for your site? Many pubs will say no in the beginning. GSY has problems getting content to this day. Eventually, one pub will say ok, we'll give it a shot. Then more and then more. I'm aware, some pubs just plain don't make the content period.

I'm guessing here but GSY probably get's it's videos because of the relationship fostered through years of interacting with the publishers. Publishers trust GSY with their HQ content when they make the effort to actually produce said HQ content.

It could be the same for allgamesbeta. Just be respectfully persistent when asking for the HQ content.

you can always just not upload content you can't source yourself?

or instead of downloading content from gamersyde and simply re-uploading it as your own (pointless theft imo), you could MENTION that there is a new trailer for a game on your site (in text, maybe take screengrabs), but link back here to the video's themsevles?

tbh being credited wouldn't be enough in this case if i were gamersyde. i'd be wanting you to do one of the above. link to their content without hosting it yourself, or not post it at all.
