If you only own a PC, you must have shed quite a big amount of tears when Alan Wake was announced as a 360 exclusive. Now this should cheer you up as Remedy just officially announced that their game was coming to PC in early 2012. Both DLC are also in the works, whether they will be included or not is yet undecided.

It's Remedy, so I expect a great PC version. Also, 1080p! The game already looks great at sub-HD :P

Nope, it's a bit overhyped IMO. Atmosphere is quite good, but gameplay is average. Probably you will get tired/bored from shooting the same guy half-way through the game.

It's a shame we're never going to see the REAL PC version of this game. Looked far more promising then what we actually got.

That was a tech demo, there was no game around it.

The levels were bigger than you'd expect for a linear game, and there was quite a bit of exploration. The daytime driving sequences hinted at an open world, but was guided enough to not get lost. It's nice to want things, I guess.

Sadly I lost all my interest when I found out that it was not going to be an open-world game. Then I got more upset, because the reason was that there could not be a decent storytelling in open-world. That was what I was hoping to see. Those two elements together. A horror story and open-world. And yeah, it is not even horror, it is a thriller.

But then I was really glad that there is a game Deadly Premonition which has all that. I wrote a small review about that game:

Deadly Premonition is not available for PC, though.

Read what supercomputer wrote again, cause you are not making the least bit of sense.

A shame i already finished it on xbox, would have liked to experience it for the 1st time with PC graphics. Its gonna look so crisp but will not be the same as playing through it the first time. It was an incredible journey. Ahh the dreamy soundtrack...

But did the horror parts in Deadly Premonition come during the open world parts? The open world parts were more for relaxing, driving, doing menial tasks.

A better example would be Dead Island, but haven't played it so don't know if the open world or how much daylight ruins the horror atmosphere.

Deadly Premonition has a "mode" where enemies appear after midnight in open-world parts. I haven't explored yet how limited it is. It is true that most of the time enemies are indoors. Still it suretanly is an excellent horror story and has open-world. You can choose what you will do next if you are not in that part of the storyline where it is more limited where you can go. Deadly Premonition has similar location to Alan Wake. Small town in Washington state. I was also interested about that.

I am quite sure that I would also like Dead Island.
