Developer Diary PC PS4 Xbox One Xbox 360 PS3

Even though no one will hear you scream in Alien: Isolation, the developers put a lot of effort in the sound design and the music of the game, as proven in this whole new video of the game. You have until early October to get ready for what we hope will be the fear of your life.

The production values are looking to be top notch. I hope the plot and gameplay match those standards.

long as they give us the choice to run or hide..and not just turn into a cgi movie where you have to stay hidden because the controls are locked and you can not move..nothing more boring than those games where they are more like interactive movies like heavy rain

Yeah. Now imagine playing it with a VR device. Shit. Yourself. Scary.

It certainly looks 10 times more polished than Colonial Marines ever was, so put the notion of this being as bad to rest. It actually looks more canon to the franchise than the turd Prometheus.

I hope the camera movement and game controls are smooth. It was a little robotic in this trailer, but this probably wasn't real gameplay, just scripted for the trailer.
I hope this turns out good. So far it looks pretty awesome. Can't wait to see it on a PC with some nice anti-aliasing vs these pixalated trailers.

I really hope they make the Alien move more appropriately and especially effectively inside the space ship (nimbly climbing through openings and shafts, making high jumps over tall obstacles, etc.). Also it should at times try to blend in with the darkness and its surroundings, so that the player has to watch the environment closely so as not to move into a trap.

making high jumps over tall obstacles
are you on drugs? :>

Original Alien was clumsy and hulking. We never saw him running, jumping, dodging or anything like that. He definitely took his time for all his awkward activities.

After original movie people made some changes in the way that aliens move. In AVP games aliens were running and jumping like a fucking monkeys. Since I like Alien franchise I accepted the fact that type of Alien is determined by the host that he burst through. Dog Alien from Alien 3 was much more agile than from the first one and I have no problem with that. But jumping Alien from the original: NEVER.

I don't think the alien should be able to do parkour.

It's clear that the alien is being built here more as a monster, than some insect ninja alien.

Obviously the alien should be able to move through vents, disappear into the darkness & such, but I don't like the idea of having to strain my eyes against the dark to see if there is something there. That seems like it would get old fast.

@ Magenta: And that's probably the only part of that movie which I didn't like: The alien moving like a clumsy human in a costume. Which it never should have been.

@b0vril: Considering the alien's build and stature it should be very well able to do parkour-esque moves, especially taking into account that it can quickly inside vents despite its size. Also I'm not sure whether they're going the "monster" route more than the "stalker" route; I wish they would combine the two in a good mix.

Well I mean the hulking size & stomping sound of his footsteps makes me feel that we aren't going to see the alien back flip into a vent.

The Alien should certainly be a stalker, but not like a panther, it's a beast.

Republic Commando (PC and Xbox 1) had a sound featurette that was amazing...

Its pretty awesome how they take veggies and squash them to make those sounds some gamers get obsessed thinking its really someone's arm getting chewed.

The sound design in this game, as far as I can judge from this and other trailers, is superb. That weight and agility you can almost hear as the Alien runs into Amanda at the end of video.
