No time to catch our breath between Christmas and New Year's, Sega and Kochmedia just sent us this new trailer of Aliens: Colonial Marines focused on the single player campaign. The game will be released on February 12, just in time for Valentine's day.

I had high hopes for this game, but they seemed so preocupied to pimp the so many efforts wasted on the shitty multiplayer this last half year, i dunno anymore if any good will come out of the game's campaign.

Gunplay sure doesn't feel any good at all.

Far Cry 3 -> PC vs Consoles would be a befitting comparison here.
It's loosing MUCH of it's charme on the consoles counterparts.

you shouldn't compare PC with consoles, it's unfair... even the exklusives on consoles of Microsoft, Sony etc. look soooo outdated compared to playing on a medium quality PC, especially when it comes to the details

Anyways I'm actually looking forward to playing the single player mode in this since its focused on just the Alien franchise... just not sure if its worth the full $60 yet but hey it looks good and pretty... PC version will be prettier but we don't know how it will run so it doesn't matter really.

Well, the current console hardware is pretty goddamn old now. There's no denying it. So yeah, a lot of games look better on PC but in general i think the most of us agree that how they play is the really important bit.

Also i think PC gaming has advantages for other reasons as well, such as more independent games, modding and less hassle for developers (ie no goddamn expensive certification processes and so forth).

Its one thing to say the PC version of a game looks better (its a bit "captain obvious", but people like to say it for some reason) but its another thing to be an elitist prick about it. I'm sorry but this looks like a steaming pile of shite. With one of the best adaptable IP's in cinema to turn into a videogame they should have knocked it out of the park. Instead we get this cliched piece of predictability that stinks from a mile away. I have a strong suspicion this is going to be average at it's very best. I'll be happy if i'm wrong.

It's a damn shame the direction this game went. I remember reading about it years ago and it was then planned to be a tactical shooter, which could have been really interesting.

The point is the game's graphics on PC looked okay back then, good in terms of the original's atmosphere & style, yet very dated compared to others on PC, which sure has to do with the movie's conceptual design. I was just worrying that the (rather well emulated, yet) minimalistic look & feel that gearbox managed to port over will be ruined on consoles by lack of AA, lower screen- and texture-resolution and - worst of all - the super-awful trilinear texture filtering (which i personally dislike the most on the consoles tbh). And then there's still the Dead Spaces, Lost Planets, Resident Evils and so on where i practically cant distinguish console from PC version...

Because we're a French website and that's the only versions we've had access to lately. Plus, seeing you guys complain because there are subtitles is a bit annoying considering people on the French side usually don't complain when the videos are full English, while most French people don't speak English at all. Now if you prefer no videos at all on the English side, no problem, we won't have to translate the news texts either. ;p

You are going to lose a lot of your audience if this continues, and it is a substantial audience judging by the comments/forums.
I love your website because you offer the best quality videos out there, but you are usually a bit late, and now this French stuff. No offence, I mean to say this as constructive criticism.
I often download videos from your website to keep them, if I like them a lot, because of the quality. I know most French people are presumptuous about their language, but I hope there are no such people here.

They have lost access to english trailers for every single game? Seems rather weird. I have not noticed this phenomenon anywhere else.
It is not just about the subtitles, but about the text in the trailers as well. With subtitles I can at least hear the original, but if everything is in French, then I cannot understand it. I might as well watch the Japanese version, or some other alien language.
