Is there an option to launch the game from the desktop rather then a web browser? I want to play the campaign before the multiplayer, and it will really suck if I cant even do that when the website is down "due to high server traffic."

No theatre mode, so this is already outdated.
I like the browser setup, but have an issue because having a web browser open takes up memory that I'd rather it be used solely for the game since I have a laptop.

If you can't play the single-player offline, that would truly suck and would just mean a lost sale from me.

I'm sure there will be a standard ex. file in there to boot straight into the single player. either way, the game boots from Origin first and then opens up the browser. You can close it down if you wish after the game loads. My main gripe is Origin and EA. I don't like the idea of having to install a separate propriety software and service to play a game. I feel it's intrusive and unnecessarily convoluted. As a gamer, I want to buy the disc, pop it in the drive, install the game and be done with it. I hate the direction this industry is going in.
I don't mind battlelog I just really do not like choosing a server through the web browser never mind the info on servers (namely player count) being rather inaccurate. I can pick a 4/32 server yet it will say it's full etc. Plus not being able to change key bindings and video options until I'm in a game and deployed really does suck, so whilst everyone else gets to go in on the action I have to sit in a corner and hope I don't die before I've sorted out my settings or I'm kindly kicked out that menu and shown a killcam. A few other nitpicks but besides that I <3 this game a ton really cannot wait for the other maps.
After playing the horrendous "beta" I feel vindicated about all the negative remarks I have made about this game. I gave up after falling through the scenery for the third time in as many respawns, great Beta considering the game is done, what an embarrassing, glitchy mess.
Graphically, it looks truly lacklustre on consoles, with poor attention to detail on weapons (a hallmark of the series), screen tearing and a weak framerate.
COD has nothing to worry about, it was all cynically engineered hype, selling the game showing high end PC footage and shameless juvenile jabs at it's competition. PC version still looks amazing but any console player who can't admit some major shortcomings is simply a blinkered liar.
I've never been in a bug-free or lag-free (not because of region) match. And I've played for more than 5 hours. Either it's always the camera twitching, or pausing whenever I run.

Or how about you cant shoot ANY of your weapons, or the reload animation never happens, your sprint doesnt work so you got to stop moving and then sprint.

Don't forget sometimes you can't iron-sight, so you have to change to your item, drop that down first, THEN go back to your rifle or even RPG to get it to iron-sight.

I had the ironsight issue, also had the reticle randomly disappear when i spawn. Oh, and had the lighting turn off for one life so all of metro looked like it was night time, really dark.
I suppose we could all make a video showing the glitches and bugs found in the open beta for CoD then Sathypop's? Oh wait we can't because Acti don't give their gamers the choice, hell they don't even release a demo lmao!!
And don't forget the mess that was MW2 and BO when that shipped! Your quick to forget how buggy and glitchy those two shooters were because it's what you want to believe isn't it? Those were an absolute joke when they went retail on consoles and PC! At least thank DICE for releasing this, they didn't have to and that video really sums up how pathetic gamers can be, it's a beta on an old build!
Like i said before, i've bought every CoD game to date, hell i buy every FPS that ships normally but i think your just hating on this game which is only showing you one map! Please m8 give it a shot when it goes retail!

Yeah i hated this blue icey theme they have going on and i wish they would just change it back to how BF2 was. Seems that is the only thing i would say that reminds me of MoH. also the Mini Map would look cool on a DS game but not on something like this.

I even played the beta to know the overal experience of the MP, its not super different from BC2 other than movement being more "free", and they have more urban environments and jets and prone. But the change isnt vast just like MW3 isnt vast from MW2.

Its obvious that the UI is taken from their Medal of Honor MP design, I personally like it.
Well i'm glad you mentioned MW2 and BO, i think why i'm so pro for this game is that i just want everyone to enjoy like i am doing! Maybe it's because i frequent the EA/BF3 forum and on there it's so bloody negative that i get a bee under my bonnet when anyone mentions that they think it's a bug ridden mess!
Like i have stated it's been tweeted that the console versions are an old build anyway, but i really do hope you will pick this up retail and maybe if DICE got off their blind asses and opened up Caspian it would dispel any negativity that you and others have for the game!

As you know, modern war games is not my type of game setting, but if I had to pick one it will never be BF because of the gameplay style it offers.

LOL made me laugh. The bit at the end was hilarious, although I've not seen anything happen like that, or even with the tank. Those are stupid things that will get ironed out. In fact I'm 100% confident that most of them are gone already.
Didn't anyone think that the bit where the soldier starts looking up and stretches it's neck to look like a lizard (is it?) has been put in as a joke? Not sure if it's a lizard but i recognise it as some creature anyway haha!!
