It was a big facepalm.
Whatever though, it'll probably be at least a decent game.
This looks a lot more interesting, with the streams and valleys, etc.

yes, it looked superb on screenshots but once I played the game myself I realized it looks the same everywhere which is why they probably integrated that "click on the map to go there and spare you the chore of actually walking there", for they too realized, that walking this endless computer generated everywhere-is-the-same landscape was nothing but a "chore"
exploration is the major motive for me to play these games, so oblivion just bored me to death
that's what I loved about Gothic1+2 (never played 3) - handcrafted landscapes with personality and landmarks and no further use for maps, because you could orientated yourself at the landmarks and just from your memories, like "Oh I know this, I've been here before. If I turn there I'll end up there and there."
the devs already promised, that Risen was 100% handcrated aswell, which is why I'm looking forward to this game
