Video Xbox 360 PS3

Epic and Electronic Arts released this long commented gameplay video of Bulletstorm, finally showing what some journalists saw last week behind closed doors at the Gamescom.

Yeah, pretty cool. It all depends on how long this type of gameplay is interesting. I remember Manhunt where I got totally bored after I did every execution move for the second time. Right now Bulletstorm feels like a modern Earth Defense Force - which is great - but I really hope they have more up their sleeve.

Side note: I'm utterly disgusted by publishers trying to take credit for other people's achievements. That was the case with Fable, when Lionhead took Big Blue Box under its wings and Molyneux behaved like the game was his idea (and still does) and now it's Epic Games claiming this to be a Cliff Bleszinsky game. It's not. It's made by People Can Fly and Epic Games supports them with technical staff. Maybe he has some creative input but they shouldn't pretend that it's his game. Of course they do it for publicity, but it sucks.

PS: I had no idea you could make a game more brownish than Gears of War. :D

That's just PR speak, People Can Fly games are as far from the whack-a-mole boreathon that Gears of Wars gameplay is. And that's what matters, that this should play like a fast PC shooter.

you talk like you have some special insight on the matter, obviously you don't.

And People Can Fly ARE NOW Epic, so like it matters much who does what in the PR Machine.

i feel utter nothingness for this game. it just looks so incredibly meh. one that is just going to come and go with little more then a whisper.

that is a massive insult to earth defense force imo. and i really dont see the similarities either way.

i'm liking this more and more. I hope they do something good with leaderboard.

I don't care what anybody says about the Unreal 3 engine it's still up there with the very best this gen. I really hope that was the 360 version.. i don't see why it couldnt be given how good Gears 3 looks

Personally I still can't stand it. Always the same 6 bland colors of shit brown used over and over again in mild variations. The textures are the only standout thing in this trailer and the flames look pretty decent if your focusing just on the UE3.

With the commentary of the units I assume they are targeting the tween generation?

It was worth watching just for the fact that the lady doing the voice over said "pus oozing" and the game itself looks fun. As long as the game stays varied it looks like a winner to me and this area is very different to the one they showed previously...

As long as the PS3 version is solid I am cautiously optimistic.

Looks Great. Only thing that holds me back is that it looks very contrained( linear). Hopefully it opens up a bit. And Color palate should have nothing to do with the UE3, if it's monochromatic, that's the developers choice...

LOL It's "constrained" that means linear, way to use big words and get it wrong...just kidding I am not usually the spelling police but you were kind of begging for it...

I don't see linearity as a problem myself in fact I have found the whole open world genre/ craze to be extremely hit and miss. Some of the best games are still quite linear although it is always good to have some open areas or branching paths.

Constrained is the word I thought I wrote- sorry I missed that "S", but I'm not writing an english paper here( read: proofreading is low on my list of priorities).

Linearity is OK for me as long as the path isn't like a friggin' alley, which is pretty much what this vid shows...

This game seems to have a lot going for it, a lot more than so many other FPS that are getting all too similar to each other. The style and flavor of the game seem really interesting and old-school in an oddly refreshing way.

I wouldn't be surprised if this game ended up being as good if not better (or at least more fun) than many other sci-fi shooters.
