Trailer

People Can Fly's kill with skills FPS cocktail Bulletstorm is out today in North America and next Friday in Europe, so here is the launch trailer of the game.
We also learn that the game's first DLC pack Gun Sonata will be out this Spring for 800MSP/£8. It will feature 3 maps for Anarchy multiplayer mode (the wretched Sewers of Stygia, the dilapidated ruins of Hotel Elysium and the open spaces of Villa), two new Echo mode maps (Crash Site, Guns of Stygia) and two new Leash enhancements (the Flamingo and the Pulp).

Kinda like Bayonetta in that, not a fan of the presentation, but the gameplay is fine and dandy.

dude, thats the rush mode of the game mostly.

See the first 20 min. (still gaining powers without skillshots) and then make you mind with what shoulda been the demo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5vT3FAmWJl0

I read a few reviews, IGN and CVG. IGN is talking about a 5 hour campaign, CVG is talking about 9 hours. IGN says the Echos and Anarchy mode aren't that fun in the long run. Normally i don't go by reviews if i want to buy something, but this sure doesn't sound like a game that deserves a 9. But plenty of sites ARE giving it a 9..Gamesradar even a 10!!!

Trying to watch the video, but youtube is acting crazy and even though the red bad is loading, it keeps showing me the spinning icon...sigh.

If the game has only 5 hrs campaign, it's already ain't worth more than 8. I'm with IGN here. Friggin' tired of them still making games in modern times that you can finish in one evening...

tired of checkpoints, save states, chapter select lower difficulty and any other casual/hardcore selector that is standard nowdays? Games meta-lenght probably aren't any less shorter I bet the core gameplay is way longer. Back In the day of Nes/Genesis/Snes your problem was that the standard was having the game over screen a sec. before being presented back at the main menu. Not the restart level/load save.

Long campaign doesn't mean a better game, if it's no fun and gets repetitive. If you're into creative killing combo kind of gameplay, get the game. It's an innovative FPS, gotta give them that at least.

I still have to judge for myself whether this game is a buy or rental for me. I just don't see anything here other than just another shooter that looks like looks like it could be Gears of War in first person perspective. I don't even have to squint to pass the game off as a Gears spin off. Do we really need another fps? When is someone just going to make a really good first person game that doesn't rely on shooting up everything on screen until you reach the next check point? After the creativity of Ninja Theory, I could use another Enslaved game. I bought the game last week. It probably was one the most underrated games in history. It easily deserved to sell at least 5 million copies. No exaggeration.

This demo shows...err nothing. Hell, it's not even from the campaign. It was bad decision for Epic to release one Echoes map (score attack mode) with limited arsenal and skillshots. Campaign is rock solid dude.

That just sounds like a blog post, once you mentioned Enslaved lol.

Bulletstorm has less focus on shooting, more focus on POINTS combining your weapons for combos, and their alt fires. If you just shoot in this game, you're doing it wrong.

You want a first person game that doesn't require shooting everything on screen? Slim chance, since most first-person games are FPSs, but have you played the melee FPS games (Riddick games; Zeno Clash; Condemned) and Mirror's Edge?

Future games: Deus Ex Human Revolution.

PC version is a definite wait for me.

GFWL integration, currently no demo, no editor, a 60 dollar price tag, and already announced 10 dollar DLC.

Yep, 20 dollar Steam sale for me.

This game is nothing like Bayonetta, its just another FPS with alot of great face hype, time will tell if people will just go back to waiting for Call of Duty instead.

Some of these comments sound similar and i advise people to reconsider if they've come to their conclusion on the strength of playing the demo a few times or maybe even more than that

It's so typically human to go with what people think like it's absolutely correct, and no more so than in games it seems. When games pick up varying scores and have wildly contrasting opinions, it's then gamers should wonder why.Sometimes it's because there is something exceptional that is not as easily identifyable, and reaching an opinon so early on is really only denying yourself of a game you might very much enjoy.People can normally work out if they like the general theme of a game and how it's plays to them ie if they think they will like the gameplay. At that point it isn't wrong to declare you don't like it because, well you really probably don't, but that's not to say you wouldn't.That last point isn't something anyone can really argue either because so much of the mechanics just wont register for some of these games

I bring Bayonetta up on here sometimes for this very thing.Absolutely hated the demo with a passion regardless of my playing it some 5 or so times.I had reasoned with myself that i'd been perfectly fair with trying to like the game but that it was a very average been there done that type of game with terrible over the top Japanese style gameplay to top it off- not that over the top Japanese is of course bad but it doesn't often appeal to me.Now had i gone with that very first impression then i would have deprived myself of what i now class as one of the very finest games i have ever played in all my 30 years.By far the best most intelligent multi layered combat that there has ever been.I would have missed out on one of the best damn games i think iv'e ever honestly played because i was arrogant and ignorant enough to think i wasn't wrong.Basically a total wanker. If i'd never played it again after my 5 first atempts i would have been perfectly happy with my opinion and it wouldn't have upset me in the least, but the point is do people really want to chance not having a game in their collection that as it turns out you end up loving. It's far smarter to investigate just why these contrasting opinions exist

I wouldn't be happy if someone came along and said they wanted to take my most treasured of games from me but that is potentially what some of you might essentially be doing here if you think of it this one way

Having played the demo i think iv'e worked out if i like this game but i have no real idea if Bulletstorm is one of these truly incredible games that i should try that much harder to like. The reward on any game that boasts deep gameplay is often massive when it clicks so it's definitely worth bothering with if you enjoy GAMEPLAY.Iv'e got the sense these days to realise i shouldn't always go by my initial reactions when thinking i'm right isn't always clever and quite often wrong anyway- for many games that don't straight away grab you that is.I often wonder how many games i've been stupid enough to pass off as crap over the years
