Xbox 360 PS3

As if the gameplay videos posted recently on the website were not enough, Criterion throws some new images our way for its Burnout Paradise in construction for the Sony & Microsoft car dealers. I like the retro car seen in the last shot. I'm hoping for a little originality without falling into the ridiculous like Showtime mode which did not please me at all.
Update: Added the demo announcement trailer, to be released later today!

They should have replaced the car you drive with a giant demolition ball for Showtime, THEN it would have made sense.
...next problem would be linking that to Burnout wich is supposed to be about driving. Mmmm hint: Dont!

Let's hope the Showtime feature is in a seperate menu that we can avoid while playing the game. Crashing cars for like forever, being able to make U turns with it?? wtf? That's pretty weird, and i agree with the above, if it would be a demolition ball it would make some kind of sense.

I like that they brught burning out back, so that if you keep driving dangerously you can chain burnouts together. However those whol goofball drivable crash garbage is really dissapointing since I really loved Crash Junctions.

Well... that was just as I expected.... boring! I liked burnout till part 3, after that it was no fun anymore, too chaotic gameplay. The open world is really terrible, you can fix your car, get more burnout and have to drive to races :S.

Tried the demo and what a complete meh that was. I was almost curious to see if they had something going this time but nope, still the soap-bar physics where you broadside/t-bone a car and you blip around it as if magic without a scratch.

Whats worse, the demo manages to bore the heck out of you since all the events are locked.. thats not good for the ADHD crowd that enjoys the franchise so much.

EA have managed to turn this exponentially advancing game (in both gameplay and technology) into an EA game.. supereme mediocrity with one step forward and two steps back. Criterion was the #1 engine middleware producer in last gen (all gta games had renderware) but if this keeps up they will go the way of EA Chicago.

EA's studios really are in a pickle. Push technology and innovate, go belly up. Be EA's gimp and churn out mediocre crap with a 3-month cycle (sports games, all racing games, all medal of honor fps) and work 16 hour days for no pay, then get fired.

How I love thee EA.

I just wish DICE hadnt sold their left hand to the devil.. oh the ages.

When I first started playing the demo I was dissapointed as hell... However as I played it I started to like it more and more, I guess you have to get past your preconceptions of what Burnout should be to be able to enjoy what this Burnout actualy is.

I love the fee burn online with all the challenge as such, chainning the stunts is addictive and fun, the racing and car control is good... My primary issues are that since it is an open city there is a lot less chance of being near and taking down opposition and the other thing is that in the same vein and for the same reason the race they had on offer seemed boring since the fastest route is not anywhere near the way the AI took.

I liked it, was annoying driving around looking for an event to actually do. Once it began it was fun and enjoyed the racing one.
One question though. Is there anyway to quick start an event? Like go to the map select it and it takes u straight there? Couldn't find it, anyone know if this is possible in the full game?
