I was very skeptical about Kinect but Dance Central is just sooooo awesome. It works perfect(ly) and I just want to dance all the time when I'm at my mate's.
That being said I'm only listening to Metal/Hardcore but Dance Central has something I can't describe Just sooooo much fun.

PLay the game and you will realize that there is NO noticeable lag.

You notice lag in Kinect Adventures (most of all in the R-Ball game) and to some extent during some Kinect sports games but Dance Central REALLY plays superbly

Funny since the "action on screen" isn't influenced by your movements unless you're doing it wrong(the red body parts are the ones you have in the wrong position) so there is no noticeable lag.

Thank you for the picture-in-picture. That was very entertaining. The chav accent on the girl in the video was painful, though.

This has made me question, is DJmizuhara a freelancer for this site, or is there an actual Gamersyde office?

@Digi, I guess I'm freelancer I've been working with Gamersyde still 2006. I wanna do more picture in picture video's for Kinect and Move games, but at the moment I'm not in good enough condition to do physical stuff because I've just recently had an operation on my back.

Yeah the Chav accent is awful made me cringe when I first heard it.

you need Kinect to play it, so you would obviously have one if you intended to... in that case you would also have Kinect Adventures. A demo for this game is included in the Kinect Adventures disc, but I cant say if thats true outside of the US.

Anyway, I'm not a fan of dancing games, except DDR, and this one looks... Very funny and entertaining.
However, it looks like we need a lot of training to know the song & moves, or am I wrong? I mean, first the moves just go one after the other, without real rhythm, aren't you sometimes surprised and then can't follow what's asked?

actually, the moves flow really well together and are much much more diverse than what you see here. In easy mode you repeat moves over and over, medium you repeat less, and in Hard you basically get a real choreography. Each individual song has its own difficulty level as well, as some are much harder than others on hard mode. Gameplay #1 appears to be Easy mode.

The queue cards that scroll on the right are easy to use as they give you an indicator of the move thats coming up next and what direction your movements should follow so once you are competent you will know just what to do next. You can also practice the routine, that you should do obviously. Gameplay #2 is Break it Down mode (practice)

The more you practise the better you get
Like the Rock Band franchise, it has a superb learning curve and you can practise every songs moves one by one. Just choose the song and then use your left hand, point to the upper left corner and move it to the right to get to the practise mode. It feels so intuitive to do this stuff. If I'm doing something wrong, left hand up *woosh* practise, if I got the move correct, right hand *woosh* jump back into the song... All "on the fly" without using any real menu etc

This one looks waaay more detailed but I wonder if people I invit would be okay to first practise and then play the game... must try anyway

They don't have to "practise" because the practise "is on the fly" when you play the song. I'm neither into dancing nor into this kind of music (as mentioned I'm only listening to Hardcore/Metal) but you can "feel" the game. I played some DDR over the last ten years, own two dancing mats(?) but Dance Central is so much more because it recognize every move/step you make and shows you if you're doing it right or which part of your body doesn't....You can jump into it right away because of its intuitive gameplay mechanics. Sure, there are (many) songs which have a hard choreography but you get better with every song you're playing. Even a mate of mine who can't do anything rhythm-related mastered about a third of the songs. Harmonic claims that there are over 500 dance moves in the game, so it should have some moves for anyone
