Zombie horror FPS from Techland Dead Island gets its first in-game trailer which is a glimpse of what to expect at E3. The game is set to release this year.
It would be really nice, if they could add a tragic and thrilling story, not just another Zombie-Hack´n Slay. Like blmbox said, it looks promising so far

yeah the characters wont have as much distiguishable well-written personalitys. Somethings usually lost in translation.

no, i dont get it either. a flythrough of the world with some nice music (that probably doesnt represent the tone of the game at all if the previews are anything to go by) that's all it was imo. a flythrough, some jerky animations and a bit of nice music.
the devs have yet to make a really good game. i don't see this being much different. although using the current fad of zombies may increase sales a little?

These are the guys behind Metro right? The atmosphere might be nailed...although did we appreciate L4D2's daytime settings when it comes to zombie "scares"? The framerate may be questionable..given previous titles

nope, not metro, that was 4A games. techland made call of juarez 1+2, Nail'd, they're making the new call of juarez and i guess chrome was their other notable release. non of which where great tho.
Outside of asinine debates of 'fast' vs 'slow' zombies it's true. Zombie fans will stomach almost anything as long as there is enough gore and the characters aren't annoying.

Again with the generalizing. I consider myself a fan of zombies, but I probably dislike more zombie-related stuff than not.
This could be really good, provided they make it more than a zombie game. If they stick to the bare basic formula, people will yawn it off. It needs something interesting/exciting to set itself apart and make it worth buying and getting hyped over.

you're a fan of disliking what you like more than liking what you like? How does that work? Arent fans supposed to throw their support at anything that indulges what they're a fanatic of? regardless of quality..

no, i described a fanatic. You're into your football.. you dont stop supporting your team when they play poorly do you? He's saying he's a fan of zombies as whole.. not a specific zombie game/movie.. so its safe to assume the guy he commented to was on the money suggesting zombie "fans" would take away something positive from any zombie related game..regardless of quality.
A good case in point. My mate's an Aerosmith fan. Who remembers the aerosmith light gun game for the snes? We both thought it was a terrible game...but he had to own it. He could take something away from it ("stomach it") because he's a FAN of Aerosmith..so anything with Aerosmith added extra value over any other light gun game we may have thought terrible!
A Fanboys blind devotion. Never seeing the negative in anything of poor quality. A Fan is recognising the bad but still supporting.. just not blindly. Right?

Matter of opinion I guess. I obviously disagree. Also, with respect to fanboys, I believe they still actually see the negative aspects of things they support, but they simply can't let anybody know they are aware of these negative aspects.
fingers crossed for this one! btw, i´m a zombie fan, and imo the only decent zombie game out there is nazi zombies, l4d was way over the top for my taste... so am i a fanboy or just a fan, color me confused....
