EA released some new images of Dead Space 2. This sequel should be a bit more action oriented than the first game but it will at least respect the spooky and disturbing atmosphere of the franchise, which is obviously a very good thing.
The first was my GOTY for 2008, and one of my favourite-looking games of this gen, but man, these screens look pretty awful. Hopefully it looks much better in motion where the lighting and animation can help it out.

Yeah pictures don't look too good, but knowing how nice first game looked i won't worry much.
Loved the first game and can't wait for this, not much fan of the new suit so far though.
Guess got used to the brownish default one of the first game, that went nicely with the environments.
This looks better than DS1. Check out screens from that game, they weren't too great.
I'm really psyched for this one. It's still a horror game (though I was never scared by a video game... or a movie in fact. Still enjoy horrors), but apparently packed with better action sequences and more cinematic - that's a win for me, can't wait to see what they pull off.
Visceral Games seem not to be that talented in the gfx dep. recently ! Wonder if someone left !
Dante looked not that pretty too..but I liked the game.

What's Rec? Is it an indie film or something? Let me know, ok.
spanish horror flick in the veins of project blair witch / cloverfield shoulder cam.
A sequel ([Rec 2]) came out this or last year, and a hollywood remake (crap, probably) of the first [Rec] was already made and it's called Quarantine, I think.

Anyone else think he looks a lil slimmer? A bit more of a female form? Or is this just my imagination?
It looks like that because he no longer is covered in tons of metal plates. The suit looks like its mainly made up of just spandex now.
I hold onto hope that the other suits make up for this one...
I'm thinking early in the game your suit will just be bear minimum armor and that's all they're going to show right now.

Haha people are talking about graphics now, but I doubt you'd have time when your busy pissing your panties playing it.
the first wasn't all that scary IMO. When you rely so much on cheap scares, they start not affecting you that much. By the end I was mhe, but in the beggining when they used some effects for pipes falling and all, that sir, was the scary atmosphere that gets to me.

You should try playing on Insane. It's easy if you play on a low difficulty, you think "oh I can charge ahead, if someone appears before me I still have 10 medpacks". The scariness fades away like this.
On a higher difficulty when one hit gets half of your health and ammo is hardly to be found, I guarantee you'll jump at every sound (like a wrench falling on the ground, happened to me a few times). If you think Dead Space 1 relied on cheap "boo!" scares, then you really shouldn't have hopes for Dead Space 2.
I loved the sound made in DS1, especially the moaning by those tall ones. One time I had to backtrack to a Stasis Recharge Pack when I started hearing the moaning, since my ammo was already low and my only Medkit was a minor one.
Anyway... even though I hate how that suit looks, I still have high hopes for this game, especially after seeing that first trailer. Images don't really show something new brought into the mechanics of the game (it's too early anyway too, they only announced new enemies and new weapons), which is fine by me, since all I want is a longer Dead Space 1 with a very nice story.

Rec 2 and the Rec remake Quarantine were both crap. one had an insanely stupid plot and the other had bad acting and little added effects that just sucked. Rec was the only good horror movie out of all of them. now that has nothing to do with this game but i just thought i would get that out there

Loved Dead Space on the 360 though, insta-buy for me :)
