Yeah I hope they start doing matchmaking in raids eventually. They could have a system where people who quit in the middle are banned from matchmaking for a day or something.
I agree, not including matchmaking was a stupid decision...at least as long as the game doesn't give you better ways to communicate with strangers in-game (chatbox in the tower or so). I hope they will add something like that. It's a highly requested thing since the Alpha.

From playing the Strike missions with randoms I'm not even a little upset. Like at all. People are an obscene amount of dumb when the objective is simple. If this is as hard as they say I want people who can shoot a gun.

What if a players internet drops out? Not really an ideal solution.

I believe you have to be lvl 20 before you can play the raids...odds as if a players reached lvl 20 they know how to shoot guns in the games.
It's not just about shooting guns, it's about teamwork, using each others strengths and unfortunately, when your playing with randoms online, they might know how to shoot, sure, but working as a team? Good luck.
Yeah but we don't live in this ideal gaming world that only comes out at press conferences....where everyones on mic, figuring out tactics, and throwing out one-liners, whilst they effortlessly play together. Odds are, for the majority, it's hard enough to get 5 other mates that own the same game as you on your new platform, able to play for up to 3hours? is that how long they said raids would take? at a time...with any sort of regularity. Let alone having had played with those 5 mates enough to know you work well together as a team, and they've all selected different classes.
Frankly i think the limits are idiotic. And i recall bungie doing something similar with firefight for the same reasons originally until finally it was released with matchmaking removing none of the fun and STILL allowing the option to play with mates
i don't see what you guys see. these planets (mars/venus) all look the same with just a different skin!? what happened to unique aliens in new habitats carrying different fighting styes in each planet. all the enemies are just a variant of what we saw in the beta. same desolate, lonely, bland environments with the same metal structures & repetitive nature of collecting the same guns except with larger numbers associated to them. if someone can please explain why there is still excitement over this.
The beta did nothing for me. The combat felt boring. The weapons didn't feel powerful enough. The ai seemed really poor, especially when you consider in halo bungies ai was absolutely brilliant. It all felt so flat and unsatisfying. I expected better from bungie. Maybe some of the employees that moved to 343 were more influential than I thought. Either way ill be getting other games this year.

Thing is, the beta showed earth and the moon...which, if you got to explore the moon, were completely different enviroments, with completely different enemies. (there were giant trolls waiting in underground caves in the moon).
This video also shows a different set of enemy.
We havent seen any of venus yet have we? and very very little of mars.
