totally. car models may not be GT level, but overall i think it looks better. and the gameplay is at least fun in this game. still wish it was a pure rally title. i was not a fan of all the random events in DiRT.
Wow i saw this trailer on gametrailers.com and it had HORRIBLE framerate, and like every commented about that and blamed the game.
Lol seems like it was gametrailers' fault, not the game itself. Thats pretty interesting.

come to think of it i know why i like the look of it! bloom is out that looks like rgb decompositing unless i'm mistaken. The red hue which accompanies the lens effect; i might be wrong i'm not techie enough to be sure
Looks great, better than NFS but it's not the best looking racing game due this year.
They seriously need to fix the framerate. The game is already running @ 30FPS and any drop - and there are plenty - becomes very noticeable and affects the speed sense and playability.
It's a bit worrying considering how close we are from launch.

Yawn. Wait it out already. Utterly pointless discussing this stuff until someone who's actually played it cites it as being a problem.
imo best looking racing game. absolutely awesome and stunning. gfx looks so real and gameplay is as great as ever, but shift and forza 3 are also great looking racers.
This, Forza 3, Shift, and GT5 have me so damn excited. I love having a good mix of great arcade AND sim racers to play around with. The sim games are usually great for SP and the arcade are great for online MP.
All games have stunning looks as well. Great year to be a car/race lover.

I don't know about the fun part. I'd have to play a demo to be 100% sure, but from the gameplay videos, it looks like the "good" old gameplay from Codemasters.
What bothered my in the first DiRT was the lack of options for setting up your own tournaments, because the original set-ups lacked a fair bit. I enjoyed the buggy stages, but wanted to put more than just the 3/4 laps a race in, also I wanted to do more races for a championship, but I believe you could only do 3 race max for any kind of championship. The RWC champ was decent enough tracks, but it didn't thrill me in a way CMR2 did (yes, the old comparison with 2.0).
Anyway, I finished the main story/championship mode and sold the game within a week of purchase because I felt it wouldn't keep me interested long enough. Despite, unexpectedly, liking the Dakar jeeps and (super) buggies. Handling too wasn't as free as in 2, but at least was a lot better than previous CMR's, which at times I found awful.
I guess what I'm saying is I don't know what to think of DiRT2 until I have actually played a bit, and I'm not sure I will give Codemasters the pleasure ;)
Still looks way too easy! I hate the way you can steam into a hairpin at full speed yet still come out ok, i really wish they didn't water the CM series down, but whatever, what can ya do?

Have you ever watched a real rally car? That's exactly what they do. They can take bends at 60mph and over.
