Looks decent, but why is the damage modeling getting worse with each iteration? The first two Dirt games had the best damage modeling in the industry, but starting with rally, they finally nailed the handling physics, so it's like they had to sacrifice the soft body physics or something. The cars don't even really deform anymore, you just get cracked glass or popped off plastic parts. Seems like a small detail, but I have a hard time getting into games that regress in certain areas. Games should be improving EVERY aspect with each iteration.

The cars deform plenty in Dirt Rally. Still it could definitely be improved upon, especially with a realistic damage mode that doesn't allow you to continue after hitting a tree head on in 100 km/h.

What's up?
  • Melmoth

Melmoth The companies are fighting for peoples time. If everyone watched netflix the whole day there would be no time to play games. (4 Hours ago)

  • Melmoth

Melmoth @Sdarts: the competition is wherever people spends their time. (4 Hours ago)

  • Sdarts

Sdarts Anyway, that's how I see this and what I believe will happen. But I'm not an expert at any of these things, so as just another bloke on the internet, let's just wait and see, time will tell. (5 Hours ago)

  • Sdarts

Sdarts Unless Microsoft royally fucks things up, Microsoft will "print money". And that's it. Sony and Nintendo will still be great, Microsoft will still earn more. (5 Hours ago)

  • Sdarts

Sdarts on Netflix. Specially kids and teens. Netflix is Microsoft's aspiration in the gaming space. Sony can be as successful as they want, they're no longer competing at the same level. (5 Hours ago)

  • Sdarts

Sdarts Netflix doesn't give a fuck about it. Netflix itself has said their competitors are something like Fortnite, because it's so successful that the time people spend on it, is time they're not spending (5 Hours ago)

  • Sdarts

Sdarts If anyone needs a perfect analogy, Sony is like HBO, while Microsoft wants to be Netflix. HBO makes some of the best TV shows ever. Period. Netflix's shows aren't at the same level of quality as HBO's (5 Hours ago)
