Even though im sick of zombie games i like the swarm behavior and that they are very fast. I hate those slow walking zombies in the walking dead because they don't feel threatening at all. Also a biker protagonist is a welcome change from your standard good guy hero.

this is my game of show i think. it caters to my tastes so much. its tonally like last of us. it's got sons of anarchy vibes. it looks lovely. and it's the first time i've seen zombies in a game move like this...almost fluid-like in the way they pour out of holes. like a proper horde. hopefully it results in some unique situations.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is the Naughty Dog engine. The last game Sony Bend made, Uncharted Golden Abyss, was a ND engine game too.

I don't think they said who's the developer, but when they were showing the teaser at the beginning of the show, the hair on the girl looked exactly like in Uncharted4. Animations & cutscene camera movement too have this uncharted/TLoU look about them.

It reminded me of that too. The horde and ragdoll Euphoria-style physics system is hugely impressive.

This was game looking great until it revealed itself to be another post apocalyptic zombie shooter.

The horde looks nice, I'll give it points for that, but the game play looked pretty boring.

I honestly quite like the feel. The environment reminds me of Alan Wake which I am only happy about.

The running animation of the protagonist is awkward lol. That needs to be fixed and given weight. Hit detection and gun sounds also need major work.

Very early build footage obviously.

I'm not sure the animation itself is awkward...but the speed he runs certainly is.

No, it's definitely the animation. I always focus on movements of characters and can spot awkward movements out.

  • toelessfoot

toelessfoot Right. I think programmable shaders were adopted fairly early on consoles (xbox360/ps3) (2 Days ago)

  • MrWhite

MrWhite @toelessfoot: Well, only recently they have been. I think this is the first gen I've seen where PC's are playing catch up. Not through hardware power, but through development cycles (2 Days ago)

  • toelessfoot

toelessfoot Yeah I think innovations on the console side are taken up more quickly by PC than vice versa because consoles are really lead platform for everything (2 Days ago)

  • MrWhite

MrWhite At least for most gamers. Similar to when everything went to pci-e (3 Days ago)

  • MrWhite

MrWhite I think we could be seeing a dramatic shift in PC hardware where it'll be essential to own both an SSD and a next gen card with the api's to use them. That also would probably require new motherboards (3 Days ago)

MrWhite If a game is built from the ground up to take advantage of that, though... (3 Days ago)
