Players will be able to experience in virtual reality the frenzy shooter from id Software when DOOM VFR releases in October for PlayStation VR and HTC Vive.
Melmoth @Sdarts: I vaguely remember that game from back then. Never played it. (1 Week ago)
Sdarts I loved this game, you can play with different characters, each with their own abilities. You had a dash, that was basically like flying - Really cool mechanic. Squaresoft at its best. (1 Week ago)
Sdarts But got to a place where I couldn't progress further, because I didn't understand Japanese - before 2000, I wanna say. Really liked it and still remember it randomly sometimes. (1 Week ago)
Sdarts And then later their American versions. There was this Japanese game only released in Japan, I think it was from Squaresoft, the game was quite cool and I went very far in it. (1 Week ago)
Sdarts @nostradamus: Yes, PSX, N64 & Sega Saturn as well. Those days, I played a lot of imported games. I believe I played Final Fantasy 8 around 6 months before the US release. Tenchu 1 & 2 in Japanese. (1 Week ago)

Then you have the fact that from what I saw, enemies' movement speed was exactly the same as the normal game. So you will need to keep moving a lot if you don't wanna die.
Lastly, but not least, the trailer ends during a finishing animation, but before it completes. Given how many of the Runes and upgrades were dependant on you using finishers one after the other, and the animation jumping you very fast from your position to the enemy's, and having to do that constantly, I can't imagine that being a particularly good experience in VR.
Even Resident Evil 7, with a far, far slower movement and pace, made a lot of people who were quite resistant to motion sickness in VR in other games, have to play carefully.
When you combine all of these facts, it's hard not to imagine that a lot of people will have a very hard time holding their lunch in their stomach. Of course, I'm sure that id Software is doing all it can to minimize this, but I can't imagine how anyone will be able to play one of the later levels from beginning to end without stopping to take a breather.
