Trailer PC PS4 Xbox One

The Crew was finally shown for the first time yesterday at Ubisoft's press conference. The open world racer, developed by a big part of the original Test Drive Unlimited team, got a very impressive CG trailer, and a not as impressive gameplay showing.

What? The gameplay was more impressive. A 500km world in a racing game that looks to have most of the fun stuff of the NFS Pursuit games? This game was one of the pleasant surprises of the show that really felt they were harnessing the new generation. It didn't look quite as sharp as NFS visually, but it's an open world game vs a linear track based racer. So, that's to be expected.

hate open world racers. it ruins it imo. ruined burnout. didn't like the NFS's with open worlds. this game did serve one purpose though, it made the new NFS look even more impressive.

What? What is new in that NFS game? Nothing at all, except for the online options. NFS is dead.

I am also not a big fun of open world racing games. After all, racing is about mastering every corner, every turn... Although in many cases I think that gamers are over-reacting and over-rating old games (I really ejoyed FF XIII and Splinter Cell Conviction, even more than some of their predecessors) but in case of racing games I really prefer old Burnout, old NFS and generally a "classic" approach to this genre. At the moment I am waiting for new GRID or DIRT for PS4 with cockpit view and GT6HD/7 of course.
