No, but i expected the new mario game for more impressive hardware to be something more then just an upressed DS game. More akin to mario 64, sunshine, galaxy. Isnt the whole point of releasing brand new hardware with increased spec to create games you couldnt pull off on lesser hardware? Otherwise what's the point in releasing updated hardware at all?

After seeing the zelda demo theres no reason for people not to have been expecting to be impressed by the visuals of a new mario (though not for it to 'blow the ps3 out of the water'). This looks like a cheap rush out to get a Mario title there day 1 in hopes of shifting units. Makes sense.. but lazy none the less.
Nintendo really didnt do themselves any favours by not only following this with a 3Ds mario that looks pretty much the same as the wii-u game visually.. but also making a point to mention that they're not the same

2D Mario games have always been superior to the 3D games. The last thing i wanted to see was a 3D Mario game.
