Rise of the Tomb Raider was one of the most highlighted games of Microsoft's press conference, and while we still don't have any videos or even a trailer, here are some images. Update: direct feed trailer added.
i hope they don't have an arbitrary "reason" why she converted to cargo shorts in this game. like she tears a trouser leg so rips them off completely and is all like "this works MUCH better, i think i'll keep it" the twin pistol thing felt forced as hell in the first one.
it looks pretty good though. pretty much the definitive edition with some better effects (snow, hair) the cross gen nature of it probably isn't helping it in that regard. but i'm looking forward to playing it.
P.S. the demo was the worst thing they could have shown of this. it wasn't intense, it wasnt fun, it wasnt exciting.
Visually very nice, as expected, which leads me to believe they favour that instead of, well, actual good design and atmosphere, and, Oh, what's the other one? Yeah, Tombs. That's it. Tombs! Just you, a torch, and claustrophobia. It won't be like that, though. It'll be Lara talking to herself to explain how she's "growing" and "finding herself" or some bollocks like that, a moment of useless hunting for food by killing a dear with a bow and arrow, and literally an army of dozens and dozens of dumb NPC's for you to mow down like the female Rambo she became in the previous game. Yeah, I wonder how they'll get that point across that you have to survive shit, when she's a practical super hero by now. I know, lets have her moan and yell a lot, and falling off lots of shit in the process. That works. From the trailer I can see that a lot already.
Having said all of this, I'll play it, and I'll probably hate it by the end of it.

What i have said before previous game was released, and yeah i hated it. Not sure if play that one. The demo shows clearly that they have changed absolutely nothing in terms of design.

Well, if the last TR game is anything to go by then yeah, it's going to be pretty damn linear and scripted. I'll still check it out all the while hoping it potentially has more to offer than the previous iteration. While being a decent game that I enjoyed, however, not for the reasons I'd like to enjoy a TR game, there remains the problem. Let's hope this one retains more of it's core values found in the classics.
I am really impressed with this new tomb raider 2015. Remember this is the first Lara and TR to be made specifically for the XB1 (and PC / PS4 soon after) and not just an adaptation from XB360 or PS3. So the graphics and gameplay will be terrific. Bring on those really challenging tombs to solve !!

this would be true...if it wasnt for the fact there is a 360 version (and no doubt a PS3 version too)
