Used game thing isn't a big deal to me at all. I can't trade me Vita PSN games, XBLA, PC Games. People just wanna hate on MS because DEVs don't like used games. When Sony acquired the patent for the chip on disc that can disable the disc, no one said anything (because they can't hate on MS). I plan on both consoles both have their benefits, with honestly XBO having more benefits than PS4.

I was disappointed they didn't announce an alternate controller more like the xbox pad with the sticks in the proper locations. I would bet money it would make up for 60% of the controller sales if they did. The PS controllers break FPS and racing games.

Charging that little for the PS4 instead of 499 is gonna lose them lots of money with that pricey DDR5 RAM, to invest in this cloud and everything else must have investors worried

Microsoft can do what exactly? They seem to of ruined their image with the start of the naming of the xbox. Then the first conference talking about tv most of the time. Then the Bullet points of checking every 24 hours to be online, not being able to share used games with your friends, sharing with up to 10 family members and so on.

I of course don't want xbox to fail because competition sake. However, they seem to be very controlling this time around

Anyway, it was a good conference. FF15, KH3 & Destiny was great! Plus cheap console and used games ya! Day one buy for me.

Whatever helps you guys sleep at night. I'm sure forced DRM and forced camera adding $100 to the console is great fun.

They're not forcing a stupid camera on you. So that saves Sony money. And there's plenty of reason to hate what the console is doing. Just because you don't have a problem with being unable to rent games or loan them to people or sell them doesn't mean it doesn't bother other people. And the Xbox One does not look better than PS4 at all. The Xbox One is a straight up box and it's much bigger. The PS4 at least has some design to it instead of just being a giant vent lay'n there. But whatever.

Only thing keeping Microsoft alive now are those people who love sports, First Person Shooters, and stuff like that. The total bro system. And they obviously don't care about Japan. That's why you didn't really see any Japanese games on there. Sony has great games from both sides.

So yeah, again, keep thinking that people are talking crap about Microsoft for no reason.

Xbox One is elegant looking and will look perfect beside my Viera and so will the Kinect Sensor (not just a camera). The PS4 will not and looks cheap and like a toy.

As far as used games issue pissing people off. Half my games on any of my systems I can't trade anyways or it has some sort of online code. I really don't think its as big a deal as everyone is making it out to be and has been trending forever now. All they basically did was change the way in which we'll trade or rent games and allow the devs to get a royalty from it. What if in years to come all games on PC or console are download only which is trending already? It appears MS will be prepared.

What keeps MS alive is everything their system does, their ecosystem and their games not just the things you mentioned. MS is extremely calculated and both xbox consoles innovated and changed console games for the better. Their users also buy more games and content. Proof is in the numbers, Xbox gamers buy twice as many games per customer, play online more and AAA titles sell more on Xbox.

You're right about Japan and I don't blame them for not caring anymore. They're such a biased market and have always been with xbox consoles. MS would just loose money there. They're proven they can sell more consoles by just holding down NA. Even if each console in japan came with a free 24k gold bar and there was all Japanese style content on the system I still don't think it would sell well over there.

The fact it comes with every console is brilliant! Especially after the bar when friends are over Kinect is the funnest experience whether bowling, darts, golf, Dance Central. Also gets girls to play games that don't play games. The improvements made to Kinect are also quite incredible compared to the original. They aren't forcing the camera accessory on you its part of the system and will be a powerful feature.

What can MS do?

I don't think they will dismiss DRM anytime soon, or at all. Price is where it's actually in disadvantage.

They could just plain lower down the price, or create another SKU (Which would suck)

In terms of gaming, they swept the floor with Sony. Microsoft bet for new IPs and New Studios, also attracted Insomniac to the console with an exclusive title (unlike Bungie's)

Sony's conference was full of multiplatforms that, while looking excellent, will also be released on Xbox One, and they spent so much time on them, as if they didn't know how to fill up their conference. (Technical errors were a disaster as well, worse than with MS)

I can't remember a single big exclusive title being announced in this conference, which sucks for a console launch E3. The Dark Sorcerer looked awesome, though I'm not sure what to make of it. Is it a game? a Tech Demo?...

Anyway. This was a poor conference all the way up to the end, where they saved it with the price announcement.

Only reason people can't remember a big exclusive announcement is because it's not on your console of choice. Let's just be real. I could say the same about xbox. But I won't because I know that would be a typical fanboy lie. Oh and I guess Kingdom hearts 3 isn't huge...

I am still really confused by this DRM thing. I was so sure Sony would just quietly follow MS. I mean why not? MS takes all the heat, Sony follows suit & with the lower price they could have got away with it.

I can't figure out what this buys them. Maybe a better launch? Maybe it's to compensate for the lack of big name exclusives? There's almost a hint of desperation about it.

It was over at gaf, when it was revealed ahead of E3. Something about them only being a small team so focusing on one platform. But open to developing it for others on the future. I don't quite remember.
