After a very disappointing port of America's Wasteland on the 360 it seems that neversoft finally goes for some changes in the Tony Hawk franchise. If this trailer is any indication of how the game will move, the changes are just huge.
as someone who spends atleast 4 hours a day on a skateboard, i have to say this looks incredible. the animations and the physics are spot on. they even got proper arm flail in this time, just watch the 360 flip on the quarter pipe, you see his lead arm go out forward, and then swivel behind his back.
watch the feet animations, how they flick out on a flip trick, and slightly pivot mid-air to catch the board. shit, the even have what looks to be physics on the bushings, you can see them give to the weight when the truck axel leans.
amazing. thank god, too, i was getting tired of skating games that focused on everything BUT the skating.
The first thing I noticed was believablility of the feet kicking and flipping the board, it's well...real.
And your point on the bushings me indeed be valid.
I remember reading recently that when customizing your board you can even change the nuts (that the right word on boards?), and they would affect how the board handles.
Out of interest Baron, how is it affected? Is it a similar analogy to suspension?
But judging from the pics, it looks to go back to what made part 1 and 2 so damn good.. it's about hardcore skating! not about famous MTV characters showing up, driving cars, carts, and other gadgets and gimmicks...
Give me back the original skating, the original tony hawk gameplay, and we have a winner that could win back the real crowd instead of snotty spoiled 8 years old who like to act like Bam Margera.. :)
