The original was a completely underrated game. Sad thing was, it was actually a lot of fun - proof positive that a game does not need to have the freshest graphics to be a whole lot of fun.

Insect Armageddon looks to up the ante considerably. I may not pick it up day one, but I am certainly getting it. Should do nicely to fill in the long, boring days of summer.

Looks like me and some buddies would enjoy this much the same way we enjoyed Blood on the Sand. A decent game made gold by the content.

EDF 2017 was by far my favourite TPS on the 360, simple, crappy, but oh so fun. totally buying this.

6 player online co-op horde mode.
i think 2 player online and offline co-op through the "story" but i could be wrong. not really been keeping track of the game. i just want it to release one day, pick it up and love it, like i did with 2017. if i start anticipating it, i'll probably end up liking it less.

yeah, it's my only worry atm. i'm a little scared they polish things up too much, which i know sounds weird. but a lot of what i loved about 2017 was the janky animations and terrible physics and the 2D sprite power-ups. there was something so awful about it, it became awesome for it. sorta like a good B-movie.

if these new devs try to make something legitimately "good", i have a feeling it wont BE good. if you get what i'm talking about. take the new fancy disolving enemy affect. it's polish that is technically more impressive then anything we saw in 2017, but it replaces the awesome "dead ants flying all over the place like they're make of polystyrene" shittyness.

as weird as this may sound....i hope this is still a "bad" game, becasue i think i'll enjoy it more.

just look at pic number 12, the ants still have that awkward "floating on air" animation wen they crawl on corners. i don't think they're going to be polishing it up that much

Yeah I wouldn't worry too much it still looks fairly "low budget" , I never played any of the previous titles but this looks like mindless fun to me. Nice to play a gimmick free just kill everything in sight type of shooter for a change.

Agree. Many Japanese fans don't like those dead ants dissapearing too quickly. They'd love them scattered around everywhere, and their homerun-flight death. Another thing that bothers me is that the enemies are not so huge as they were in 2017 (partly because now the player can fly, or camera is a little bit far?). Also the number of enemies on screen is small.

I think that the biggest fun of EDF is kicking the hell of overwhelming situation. I cannot find it in these trailers.

Only one armour can fly and the ammo for that armour is energy which is the same energy that you use to fly so you won't be able to fly all the time if you want to be able to shoot
