Here's the latest video of Final Fantasy XV which shows more of the famous feathered mount and the new fishing system.

The game looks great in this video. the only issue though is that this demo was running off of a PC, according to the active time report.

I believe that 1080p 30 fps is probably not in the best interests for this particular game. I would look towards using effective post AA solutions. The major reason behind that, if you look at this video and other videos from their pcs you can see how much of an impact the shaders and drawings distance makes.

Even at 900p, the game looks far more complete with these details left back in the game. The food in this video looks incredibly lifelike at the end.

Agreed. I think the three biggest issues this game has visually is the IQ, the LoD system they are using and the AA solution. Pop in here is much less evident than in the Pax footage which was on PS4. They really need to fit that, it was about as painfully obvious as in AC Unity. Otherwise, up close there seems to be a lot of detail, but the AA solution smears the image and is not doing the game any favours. The density, scale and geometry are very good (along with others stuff like lighting), but the drop of in detail is too much at this stage in certain parts of the environment. The hills in the background look too smudgy. I played Crysis in 2008 on a PC much less powerful than the PS4 and background details had better clarity. These things are so obvious I hope they can prioritise them. They are taking the otherwise stunning visuals down a peg.

That's not even apples and oranges anymore. More like apples and plates... both seem to be round from a distance, and sometimes even have a comparable color. But if you shift your sight just slightly anybody should be aware that these things are REALLY hard to compare, especially from a technical point of view.

That chocobo really remembers me of ff7... the hunt for the golden one. Damn that's a long time ago.

There should be a pc version in the months ahead of the launch. As my prediction suggests, SE still has some other games to release on steam first. FFV has been the latest game, before that was type-0.

------------

For the console versions of FFXV though, i strongly suggest that they retain much of the lighting and drawing distance from their PC videos. The difference between the console and pc videos are like night and day.

Well then, problem solved, I'll go for the PC version if the PS4 version looks/runs like poo.

I think the PC version is likely to hit some time after launch. 6 months to a year minimum really.

I also think the game should see a lot more polish before release. They said the whole game is super rough because they are working on the whole thing in tandum rather than polishing up individual sections. We will see.

I don't even think the PC version looks like the highest spec of the engine, but more a target render for the PS4 version. You could clearly get much better IQ and AA, etc on PC if you wanted to than what is shown here...

Very Japanese though. They like including these kind of distractions; worked for Zelda (without the Backstreet boys theme of course - that made me lol)

Riding the Chocobo looks great tbh. Fast, you can jump around with it and actually traverse the offroad environment in what looks to be an efficient fashion. Sweet!

The fishing looks very meh to me though. And it's a bit fun that the prettiest graphics seen form this game so far is a static model of a cooked piece of fish :P

Looks good though, makes me want to play the game :)

Graphically the only difference I notice between this and the PS4 driving video is the LOD. It's less aggressive here and looks to be something they're striving for.

Shaders only look different here because it had just rained, so the wet look is applied to the rocks, mud, puddles were formed, etc. compared to the dryness in other videos. Graphically it looks pretty similar though.

They're definitely displaying a target render, which Pc is
commonly used to display target renders. Quite a few details of the target can be see in the video before of course. Their optimizations have been around performance in particular, ever since the reception of the duscae demo.

There is still room for gradual optimising. It's most likely though not going to close the gap any further than what we've seen, without sacrificing something for performance. Tabata said if possible they'll reach 1080p, and i say if possible keep the drawing distance and shaders in exchange for pixels. The atmosphere looks more complete with further drawing distance, richer shaders and effects.
