Polyphony Digital released a bunch of new images of Gran Turismo 5. Let's hope they show us some direct feed videos in the near future but well, pictures are nice too for now.

Actually there have been like 6-7 sets of screens released in just the last month or so. I would have to agree with broman anyway. They did the same thing with Forza 3 before release. Sure the shots are pretty, but c'mon mix it up a little.
wonderful screens, but what's the point in watching something that's misleading in the first place? GT5 can only be judged when seeing it direct feed. Anything else they release is just "Vogue-Cover" optics ... doesn't really look like that.
But the screens are really beautiful, maybe a bit sterile ...

These screen are from the replay-race. Everything looks more polish then. Give us some ingame movies og ingame screens!
these are actually from photomode which renders images at 5760 x 3240 which is like 9x the resolution of 1080p. That's why they look so sharp and crisp
Most of the pics they show do really not show much of the REAL game !
Really bored by this replay vids ,they look real and great..but not actually like the game ,more like a car show !

I think there are people posting on this site who are much, MUCH more deserving of being called a fanboy than him... at least I haven't seen any examples that would make him a blatant fanboy in my eyes.

I can't read a single thread about anything to do with the 360 that doesn't have him saying something negative. He can't help but fall over himself with praise every time something, say, GT5 or Uncharted 2 are mentioned, however.
Yea, the shots are cool and all. But I'm so tired of developers giving us false hopes with shots. For cryin' out loud, if the game doesn't look like that when played, then what's the point??
treat to eyes. The game looks really like that in photo-mode. It really looks that good in replays too and although gameplay doesn't look shabby either lol
It's so not fair of them to keep releasing screens of this game when it still feels so far away. Damn you Sony for constantly reminding me that I have to wait to play this beautiful game. The more I read, the more I think PD will indeed deliver on bettering the physics from the lame GTP demo and remind us why they are so loved by racing fans.
Forza 3 is amazing and I still cannot wait to play this game. I am way too addicted to racing games lol...

Forza 2 has suffered on the same problem, now it seems to be a problem of GT5. Some areas are overexposured and looks just white with a little blue touch. You can see this on many GT5 screens/videos.
Can't wait. Fired up gt5p again last night and bought the citreon GT concept, talk about fast but understeers a lot. Anyway I played it for ages and realised, GT5 can't come soon enough.

Maybe because it's a game. Although I'd also suggest re-calibrating or re-adjusting your monitor.
The blue tinge in most overexposed area is known as chromatic aberration. In the past (pre-digital), it's usually caused when the lens capturing the image (or scene if it's video) isn't capable of focusing all the colours to the same point. With digital, it's known more as purple fringing- it isn't necessarily CA but for most happen for the same reason (worst with smaller CCD camera ie. compact). As to why it should appear in a video game like GT5- perhaps someone can explain that to me.
It's supposed to mimic the effects that you get with a video camera. Regular life isn't cinematic, really.... It's the way real life is captured on a camera, the angles, depth of field, color enhancement, and all of that that makes music videos, tv, movies, and everything else look more appealing. I don't think they're trying to make these cars look the way they would look if you were standing in your driveway looking at them. They're going for a cinematic look as if you were watching it on TV.
