While waiting for the first 10 minutes later this evening, here is already something for the Forza 2 worshipers and even the skeptics out there. How not to be impressed after having seen this 60 frames per second video?
How come xboxyde hasn't mentioned anything about the Dirt demo out on the market place?
I can't believe how beautiful it looks! plays well too and the inside car vew is stunning! The menus are wonderfully done too.
I will get Forza2 as well, but Dirt must be the best looking driving game AND next gen demo I have played so far, 10/10!

I tried downloading it for four hours yesterday evening. Once I download it, you'll of course get videos :)
yup, the download of the DiRT demo over here in europe takes forever. i'll have to wait till after work to see if the low-power-download-mode on the 360 worked. :)

rezehnder, when I use the low power mode, my 360 shuts down (completely) after a couple of minutes <> I know how it works, but it doesn't do the job just right..
Nice driving :), is it true if I say you were using the steering wheel? It's plays so damn fine, the SW with Forza.

Recorded 20 min of DIRT demo godness for people to watch here:
The only thing I have been smoking is 7 years of experience in game development, so sure, Forza2 has great physics but if you are impressed over its visuals then well you might need to stop with whatever you are smoking :)
Just check the inside car views in Dirt, if that doesn't blow your mind then well nothing will ;) and the car damage visuals make Forza look like an arcade game :)

Dirt took me 12 hours to D/L with a 12 MB broadband...long
btw the GFX's are great
12 Mb(it)/s.. Because I very much doubt anyone has a 12MB/s internetconnection at home already.. ;)
I have 24Mbit/s (2,8MB/s), and yes the DIRT demo download is rediculous slow.. Why are we paying 60 euro a year again for XBL?
The Ring in Forza 2 looks amazing btw, lot more detail then in say PGR3.. And that was a good drive.. under 7 minutes.. To bad you got that 2.7s penalty near the end, but still good drive..
Nice Graphics (impressive Cockpit View, but not better than PGR3 or Test Drvive Unlimited), good sound and the Menus are Stylish too.
BUT: Dirt isn't Colin anymore!
Where are the ultrarealism Gameplay? It's gone!

OMG!, to the people who say you don't need 60fps or people can't realy tell the difference between 30fps and 60fps, just watch this trailer and then say its not important!. Watch this trailer then play PGR3 and this makes PGR3 seem like its running on the Sega Saturn.

Agreed. I didn't know why my eyes hurt when I played Colin McRae Dirt. Then I realized that it was 30fps. It's that important, I didn't even realized that before.

It's not important..
I don't care what the fps is, aslong as the game looks and plays smooth.. PGR3 also does for me despite not being 60fps.. And this is the last I've said about it in this thread because I don't want to go into another useless discussion about fps in console racinggames.. I don't care and it's not important, and I'm pretty sure that goes for the vast majority of people that play these games.. Enjoy the game..

I'm pretty sure that you are wrong bud, PGR3 looks awful to me now when you see something like this, i'm not saying that 30fps is bad as its not (if its stable) but PGR3 has slowdown and can get quite jerky at points, also the graphics turn into a blurry mess when racing but i know 100% that if PGR3 ran at a solid 60fps, it would be fantastic looking and blow away even Forza.

I was underwhelmed by Dirt. Sure it looks good but the demo hasn't sold the game to me. the cars handle like crap and its very arcadey. Nowhere near a rally sim that's for sure.
