GSY Video PC PS4 Xbox One

Let us continue our GC coverage with some direct feed capture of Monster Hunter: World recorded with our own equipment. We don't know for sure if the game runs in 4K on PS4 Pro, but when asked what we wanted to favor in the game, we chose resolution (framerate and graphics are the 2 other options). We were also able to capture the game in HDR but we'll need a few more hours/days before we can share the footage with you.

Is it just me or the game's colors and tone just look "washed-out" with a white filter or something?

I believe it's because of the lighting technology they're using or it's something similar to the green and orange color tints in Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas, respectively. Only that in Monster Hunter: World, it's a white color tint.

Another way to look at it is how on TVs and monitors, you have the "Color Temperature" option in which you choose Cold, Medium or Heat. In Monster Hunter: World, it's similar to choosing "Cold", although that applies a blue color tint on TVs and monitors.

The game looks great and it's not a big deal, but it removes some of the charm of the visuals for me. Though I'm sure it's easily fixable with ReShade, SweetFX or a mod on PC, and also by changing one or two TV settings on consoles.

The gameplay looks really great and it will be my first time properly playing a Monster Hunter game, my first time was while messing around in one of the Monster Hunter games on my brother's PSP.

This also gives me a lot of Dragon's Dogma "feels", the open-world, the melee combat and the creatures' design, it just makes me think of Dragon's Dogma 2 on current gen consoles and PC. But in it's absence, Monster Hunter: World will do great.

PS. To anyone interested in seeing all the different type of weapons - 14 in total - and some of the combos one can achieve with each, there's 3 great videos about them on Gamersyde (link below):
