The screenshots of ReCore show the game in a more colorful way that what was shown two months ago at E3. The game is coming next month.

This game looks kinda rough, still have it pre-ordered but yeah, it looks rough.

The double-jumping animation in particular is oof.

With this I have similar feeling as with Enslaved. I loved how it looked, but the framerate and animation transitions were really bad. Well...I bought it anyway and enjoyed it very much. I want this.

Is there a specific reason to use Chromatic Aberration in games? Does it help with something in the game´s engine or is it just a matter of design?

They're trying to capture lens effects. Like lens flair. Noise filters. Dust on the lens. It makes it look like a more "realistic" image, albeit a digital one.

Still loving the gameplay side though. Any game with Metroid's style of gameplay progression is a must have for me.

Chromatic Aberration usually doesn't bother me too much but good grief. Some of these shots combined with the low resolution look like 3D imagery without wearing the necessary eyewear.
