It won't come as a surprise to anyone considering how common 1080p remakes have become, but God of War III Remastered was announced just an hour ago by Sony. Just like in the remastered edition of The Last of Us, a photo mode will be added so you can express your talent. The game will be released in glorious 1080p/60fps on July 14, but until then, check out the very first trailer and the images we were just sent to illustrate the announcement.

Hmm i don't think this one will visually be that much of a upgrade since it already was smooth and great looking to begin with.

It's amazing that there's a whole huge group of gamers who didn't buy a PS3 or played GoW 3 or the series...hopefully the God of War Ascension 3d engine gets used to remake GoW 1, 2 and the PSP games.

The set pieces of GoW3 still look amazing in motion, but no way is this is worth $40. Seems like a desperate attempt to get exclusives on the calendar.

Hmm kinda feel the same away about it not having as much of an impact as say type 0 ... but still it would be nice to see how it does ...

now if they upgraded GOW I to look like III as an Ultimate edition, then Sony SS will have my undivided attention and taking my money becomes as easy as taking a .... :D

I thought of going back to again and also collect some more trophies lol. But GOW:A should have been included. No reason to miss on that as it was on PS3 too compared to others. IMO the whole GOW series needs a remastered like Halo got. These are still awesome games.

i finished this on the ps3
true about no exclusives for ps4 this year .

I was so gutted when uncharted 4 was delayed .
"uncharted 1 2 and 3 remastered " on ps4 makes more sense .
releasing before uncharted 4 would be smart and awesome

Yup, just another example of the failure of next gen to deliver. What a sham. I'm always blown away by the many gamers who thing these remakes are great.
If we had BC on these consoles there would be no need. Bet they charge $50-60 for this last-gen game with a paint job. Keep buying these, they will keep making them. Geniuses.

Not really, remaster from last gen is the deal not last-last gen.

IMO they should have done a ultimate God of War Saga pack.
God of War 1+2+3+Ascension all in one pack, 1080p/60fps and if they want to throw in those psp games, go for it.
That is how you do a proper God of War remaster AT THAT PRICE for ps4. GoW3 is absolute dirt cheap same goes with Ascension, so the price they decided is insane, UNLESS they announce something that comes with the pack (all DLC is dumb since the DLCs are skins lol).

Doesn't need a port to begin with. Add to that that God of War 1 was the only good one and i see no point whatsoever in buying this :P

GOW2 was the best in the series, and that is fact. :P

I'm kinda glad for this remake cause I always wanted to finish in hardest mode, now in 1080p. I'll wait for a bit till it's cheap.

I hope this is a good sign for a GOW4.

No, God of War 2 was the game that made Kratos in to an angry baby, ramped up the QTEs to overdrive and did fuckall to expand the game :P

Agreed, essentially all that has been done is the internal resolution has been bumped up from 720p to 1080p@60fps. Shame really would have looked great if they upgraded the textures and added some form of AA; but that's just too much work so they added a photo mode......"Remastered" I don't think so.
