Besides, depending on what leader you choose you do get a pretty significantly different experience, and there are six of them.

Deft; yeah, I felt that was a little bit of a copout, but at least it's explained somewhat satisfactory why nobody knows about the flood despite this encounter.
Really, the only kind of DLC for Halo Wars that would get me proper excited are new campaign scenarios. When I first heard about "Historic Battles" that's what I thought that was; new standalone scenarios based on "famous" battles in Halo lore. Not necessarily a full coherent campaign, but simply new scenarios to beat and perfect.
Is it just the new maps, or did Halo Wars really look that mediocre?
I can imagine Dawn of small-squad-War 3, being released with 2 multiplayer maps (1 of which is a pre-order bonus) and a 6 hour campaign mode. lol
80.000 + gamers per day (stats on halowars.com) are pretty much.
Everyone whining about the 800 points: don't buy it and that's it. In my opinion the price is okay - not a bargain, ya, but it is still okay.
btw. I already bought it and the maps are pretty good - especially the 3 vs 3 map is awesome!

sure there are some maps lacking more than others, but its one of those rtss that tries it all: indoor, outdoor and excells in unit animation/physic in the (console rts) genera. Its a pleasure to se Iconic Halo universe characters done with care.
i have a feeling these have come a little to late for anyone to even care tbh.
When I first played Halo Wars through I thought it felt a bit short, but if there's one thing decidedly Halo about it apart from the obvious, it's that it's very, very replayable and dynamic.
One thing I would like from this game is some more Campaign missions. Felt like there was an opening for it left there at the end of the game. But maybe its just that classic Halo cliffhanger: "I think we're just getting started"
