Warner has released a new trailer for F.E.A.R. 3 about the character Paxton Fettel, mixing live action and gameplay as the two first trailers, plus ten new screenshots.
FEAR 1 set up an awsome premise to what could of been quite an epic story I feel. The 2nd isn't how i'd of thought it would carry on but I enjoyed it.....this isn't monolith and just looks utter crap and what previous interest I had in the events has been destroyed. It looks like these guys want to ruin FEAR completely. =( Is unfortunate.
I still remember the first FEAR, and how it was such a powerhouse technically. That was a great game for several reason, including incredible AI at its time, great shooting, and on top of its game in all technical departments.
This seems to be average and below in all departments.

forget "incredible AI at it's time", Fear has always stayed amongst the very best with it's AI. Fear 2 last year demonstrated that.
Fear 1 was a great game..very cinematic (one of the most memorable endings to a game i've experienced) and stunning to look at. Fear2 was a great underrated game...and still looked visually impressive.
I can't say i'm impressed with these screens, or what i've learned about the game so far... co-op in the fear universe just doesnt sound like a great idea to me... Fear was supposed to be a game about atmosphere and cheap scares...they're obviously now pushing it towards a more action route.
I lost interest the first time it was announced as "F3AR"... Maybe they dropped that horrendous title, but my impression of it is still tainted with F3AR. Screenshots don't help either.
well wasnt monoliths last 2 games Rogue Warrior, and AvP? The rate they're going i dont think they'd be able to bring a quality title even if they were still attached to Fear
Doom, Condemned 1 is much higher regarded than FEAR 1 and they came out around the same time :P
But overall I agree, NOLF games were their highest point IMO, and that's when they were PC only.
Condemned 1 and 2 are both among my favs this gen. If you liked Condemned, you definitely owe it to yourself to play Condemned 2 as well!
i loved condemned (my avy) but hated condemned 2. it just got stupid, they refined and built upon some things gameplay wise, but the whole paranormal aspect got way out of hand. which is a shame becasue it had some serious potential. i mean, WTF did they do to ethan thomas when they where in pre-prodution for condemned 2, they basically did a warrior within on our asses and made him all "emo/angry/hardcore" and in the process completely killed the character.
lame sequel is lame (that goes for FEAR2, and no doubt FEAR3)
monolith should maybe just make *A* game, with a story that starts and ends. and just move onto another IP when they're finished. cos they clearly lose their way when they have to make sequels.

Sure, the story is a bit wack...but I never really cared for the story in part 1 either. It's all about the atmosphere, and even though the 'paranormal' stuff was a bit overdone, the game itself was as tense and awesome as the first one. I mean, just the epic 'bear scene' alone makes this a worthy purchase!
All in all, I actually thought Condemened 2 was the better game simply because it was more entertaining. The first part actually had the whole 'unique experience' going for it and it was an early next-gen title, which is why I can understand why people would say the fist part was better (and in relative terms I'm convinced it is).
