as i've said before, this game has potential, but it's gonna take a demo to really prove itself, it's a wildcard and a solid demo could easily turn it into a huge hit, that and some decent advertising.
Draw distances like that are childs play with all the LOD methods developers can just pick and choose these days. A game like Saints Row pops entire cars in your face without a single LOD level, while some games have tens of LOD levels.
Add in geometry instancing and you can draw huge crowds with cloned geometry for absolutely free (kameo fight, n3).. some devs just dont have an effin clue.
This game most definitely has the technology down to the T, its the game I'm worried about. But whatever the game itself will be, the more quality technology and engines we get onto the market the more opened people's eyes will be to the kind of crap some devs are pushing down our throats.
(LOD = level of detail, where each level is progressively less detailed as the distance grows).
I'm really not liking the cel shading at all for this game. I don't understand the point of putting black outlines around everything just to be different. If they were going for a comic book feel, they are way off.
I think this game looks much better in motion than in screenshots stills. I had no interest in it before these videos. It just needs some better physics (particularly for the vehicles--refer to the gametrailers.com video to see what I mean), and a little more dynamic AI for NPCs.
I hope they don't rush this game. Between the open environment, some of the great technical features shown in the videos posted above, and the co-op, I think that with some more robust environments (with sharper physics and AI) and steadier framerates, this game has some potential indeed.
I have one question...can you customize your own character and play as you want?
I have no intention of buying this game at all, but I just want to know.

if this game was photoreal instead of styalized im sure people would be going nuts, it takes gameplay to make styalized games like this more sellable
