Wii

The House Of The Dead 2&3 Return (Wii) comes back to haunt us with these new extreme screenshots with zombies wearing tight jeans, an animal with sharp claws and a bad aura effect (?). Mark down March 28 if you are interested because this is the release date of this on-rails shooter in european stores.

Well the my stock in this title went up when I heard they're arcade perfect conversions, unlike their Dreamcast and Xbox iterations. I'm just a bit miffed that HoTD1 isn't in there.

And ultimately, also upset that there's no word on a Virtua Cop collection, because that's frankly miles better as a franchise.

Are you sure you're not thinking of the Saturn version of House Of The Dead 1? (Which was still great.) The Dreamcast version of House Of The Dead 2 was better than the arcade version graphically (they fixed the slowdown and possibly added more anti-aliasing although it could have just been because the arcade screen was bigger than my old TV so it exaggerated the aliasing) and of course had extra options and the Xbox version of House Of The Dead 3 was arcade perfect as far as I could tell. (Plus extra options too of course.) If you're talking about the Xbox version of House Of The Dead 2 you'd be right since not only was it a conversion of the arcade version graphically (complete with some slowdown), not the Dreamcast version, but the shading effects weren't as good as the arcade or Dreamcast versions for some reason!

You might well be right. I know the saturn version of HoTD was graphically pretty rough - but as you say still a great game - and that's why I miss having that in there. In terms of the two others, I just seem to recall the DC version looking flatter than the arcade game, and in an interview with the producer behind this Wii collection he stated that the games in there would be "arcade perfect" conversions unlike the home versions so far.

I never even played the Xbox version of 3 for some reason, so with that I'm even more clueless. :)

But yeah, you could be absolutely right, I was just going by what the producer said.
