Namco has released some new images of Afro Samurai, which will be released this fall on Xbox 360 and Playstation. The game is based on the manga series with the same name, while a TV series was aired in both US and Japan last year.
I think it looks cool. I just hope it isnt like the hundreds of Naruto-games coming out every year, with one mediocre fighting component and one mediocre adventure component. However, lets hope this game will be as fun to play as it look cool...
Yeah, the style does look cool...until you actually see the gameplay. However, it does have RZA still doing the music, and Samuel still doing the voice-work. So I can't pass it up :/
If there's one thing current-gen consoles can do right, it's cell shading. Too bad so few games actually take advantage of this. I think the graphics on this and that Naruto game for the 360 looks fantastic compared to most other titles not using cell shading, but are still heavy on details.
Crazy art-style. The blood looks awesome in certain screenshots. I love it. I'd like it more if the guy wasn't an Afro - better a real samurai - it's not racism there!! It's just that it'd complete the whole Japan-feel, you know.

You need to watch the show.
Which btw rocks. So I hope this game does too. It'll be worth a try either way if Samuel L. Jackson and RZA are involved.
Art style looks kind of like Crackdown only a little more cartoony. Even though I've heard of and love the concept of the show, I haven't seen it but I mean come on, Sam Jackson + the RZA? What could go wrong there? Definitely plan on checking this one out.
I'd rather re-watch Samurai Champloo than playing or watching this wannabe game/anime.
you seriously have no idea do you? Afro Samurai is created by Takashi Okazaki from Japanese anime studio GONZO. The cost of each episode is estimated at one million dollars! This is far from a /wannabe anime, this is real deal with all bells and whistles!
Graphically it looks pretty good. Shame they couldn't release a sequel to the series at the same time the game is released, that way it would create a buzz.
Now I feel like this one had missed it's chance.

Ps, the main character is awesome^^
Anyways, I wish the enemy designs were more interesting for this game
