Well I still think Dirt 2 is the best looking racer on consoles, even better looking than Forza 3 and GT5 in terms of style and presentation. Just a shame they had to go SOOO far to the arcade side of gameplay. It's still a fun series to play, but with a little more solid physics and weight the game would feel so much better.
Still, I'm sure it will be a decent game with great visuals.

a pipe dream is essentially an unattainable dream or hope/wish. not a target render really since there isnt the slightest chance they've even approach the level of quality in those images. more like wishful thinking. more commonly referred to, as bullshots

All these look photoshop. Codemasters always have a great artistic looking racing games with nice environments so this will look great I am sure but these are looking bad.
I really liked the last game so the idea of more is keeping me happy, the gymkhana should be a lot of fun, hopefully it'll be really really hard and take ages to master. That would be great.
Dirt 1 = colin macrae was great with too many options and settings for cars , Dirt 2 was great 2 but with less settings , lets hope they take it back to its root or a better experience

No, the Dirt 2 renders had a lot of detail on the streets, like lots of little stones. These screens seem to be straight from the engine, just with some post processing.
