It's been a long time since the last public appearence of Midnight Club L.A., next iteration of Rockstar's well known driving series. We still don't know if the game uses GTA4's engine, but it doesn't prevent us from enjoying the nice cars featured in the eight new images we just found.

I think people are probably going to be comparing this a lot to Burnout Paradise.
Technically the GTA4 engine is actually the Table Tennis engine...
Looking at GT5P, which also has incredible models and nice effects, it really does make a large visual difference, even when not RIGHT UP against the car.
[edit : just checked, GT5P cars are ~200k polys, this game are ~100k, PGR4 are ~90k, but these seem better modelled, so it doesn't seem they're throwing away details on the cars at all...]
[edit 2 : if you're worried about textures being wasted as you said in those grills and meshes, those are easily able to be tiled probably, not much RAM wasted there...]
But... Midnight 3 was terrible... full of horrific gimmicks and so much neon graphics it was just horrible to play
might rock on!
the cops & robbers mode was the best
This is really the last of the gang to die now that the Rush series was fucked up to no end, Full Auto 2 a missed opportunity of giga-normous proportions, and Burnout Paradise is essentially a different game alltogether. Here's keeping fingers crossed for this.
I'll be pissed if there's no shortcuts through skyscrapers.
I enjoyed MC2, which is the only game in the franchise that I've played. I'd be willing to give this one a shot.
Game looks alright. Lighting is nice, other than that I'll have to see some proper gameplay footage.
Okkkkkkk, if you say so.
