I mean it looks ok i loved track and field for the PS1 and 2 but come on!!! im sorry but Mario and sonic? who cares, I find mario dispiseable tbh to the bitter core extremely dull and boring never mind tedious then to bring tat into a track and field game ... im sorry but no thank you.

However with the wii controls it could be fun ... "could be"

The mario characters are a bit silly, yes (not to mention lame as hell. Walugi? For real?). But even so, I'd take the Mario guys over the sad excuses for characters that the Sonic franchise has spawned of late. Shadow the hedgehog? That's cool, right? Yeah, if you are ten years old i bet it is! Or that retarded crocodile guy?

Anyways, i want to remember that the team developing this game has some experience with the genre so i bet it will be an entertaining title for all the wii-owners out there, god knows they need it :)

Indeed, developed by people behind the excellent Athlete Kings/Decathlete, this could certainly turn out to be better than many predict.

You're actually wrong though, Vector is a character from Knuckles Chaotix, which makes him one of the oldest characters in the Sonic universe. As for Shadow, I doubt anyone who played SA2 on the Dreamcast dislikes him. He's been percieved as the gritty, gun wielding equivalent of Sonic, but that's not quite how he was originally portrayed - and that basically goes for before AND after the deadful solo game of his.

On the contrary to your prediction though, this comes out essentially at the same time as Super Mario Galaxy. I think most Wii owners will be well busy with that, and even if this turns out to be good, that'll prolly be its downfall.

It's a bit awkward in general to release a summer olympics game in winter.

SimonM7: i DID play SA2 (which was a utterly horrid experience) and i still think that Shadow is a crappy character. It's sonic, except hes black and has a gun. I know that the crocodile is from Chaotix, but as far as I'm concerned anything after "Sonic & Knuckles" is pure crap. And that goes for the characters as well. But that's just my opinion, if you like em, thats fine :)

I do think that the Wii needs more good games though. I don't consider myself to be a fanboy for any platform but how can you do anything but bash the wii when it comes to the games? Just collections of minigames and Zelda on there. Twilight Princess is the ONLY game i would even think about picking up for the Wii right now.

Shadow has been in about seven games and he has guns in one of them. He's about as much Sonic as Raphael is Leonardo.

Disinterest isn't the same as no good games though. There are plenty of good Wii games that aren't minigame compilations.

I also hate Shadow. Robo or Mecha Sonic would have been a much cooler AND more interesting inclusion, plus a nice nod to us Sonic 2/Sonic CD fans.
