If they manage good car physics and AI that aren't a bunch of bumpers, this game should be fantastic. Specially because it has GT1 and GT3 cars and also there's rumor on the net about Prototype cars. Since I don't have a PS3 and I'm somewhat disappointed with GT5's car list, I'll decide on GT5 after I know about how this game plays and how it turns out as a game overall.
Am I wrong in thinking this game will be more accurate in simulating the actual thrill of racing? If anyone has ever driven one of these incredible machines, the experience is anything but generic as you see with Forza/GT5.
Only when these companies learn to combine what Shift has done, with the advanced racing physics of GT5/Forza, will you start to see anything resembling a real simulation.

Wow..finally someone got the point. Im not a fan of "sim" games ( but I LOVE actual cars with all my heart), personally I think both Forza and GT sucks ass. Of course they are good looking, offer zylions of cars and tweaks but what they dont offer is actuall "feel" I can get better thrill driving a bloody lawnmower then doing the same with the best cars in the world in both those games. Thats why even with my aversion for car sims I really enjoyed first Shift, it was far from perfect but at least devs tried to give us something much more realistinc then both forza and gt. Thumbs up for the sequel and please dont flame me for saying things 'bout so-called-sim games. Peace

Yep, that horrible blur and shakeness in camera in cockpitview was crap. I never bought shift because of this but the cockpit looked cool otherwise anod gfx were good.
It's funny, it's such an obviously horrible and unwieldy word that it's rarely even used in common language. It's like the verbal equivalent of slapping somebody with a giant steak.
I think the thing most in need of unleashing its feelings of repression is the word itself - usually confined and restricted to the campiest of thing naming.

The first SHIFT was pure crap. Motion Blur everywhere (even INSIDE the cockpit LOL) and the actual driving physics were the worst I've ever seen in a racing game so far. A tiny furrow and the car is bouncing like crazy. Just baaaaaad, EA, just baaaaaad. And pushing the next SHIFT so soon just means it will only be worse than the first game was.
As always EA is just about graphics, graphics and more graphics. But the actual gameplay and the technical aspects in terms of bugs/glitches are terrible in every game of this company.
The new Hot Pursuit wasn't a big success as well.
The franchise became dumb and old. EA has to remind what "Need for Speed" stands for. I cant understand why so many people still supporting EA here. Without the title "Need for Speed" the current games of this series would be nothing. Absolutely n.o.t.h.i.n.g.

I just wish other devs *cough*Turn 10*cough*Polyphony Digital*cough* would pay attention to how these guys approach immersion. Say what you want about the driving( I didn't like it either), but they make a very good stab at capturing the feel of driving these powerful machines. I think that gets over-looked by everyone else...
i wonder if this will feel like driving a high powered office chair like the first one did? they must have taken a leaf out of codemasters book on that one. lol
