Before the Games Developer Conference (GDC) next week, where with a little bit of luck we will learn more about Silent Hill 5, here are some new screenshots of this creation. If you want my opinion, it's really far from my favorites (the two first entries) et it frustrates me. However, it's not a complete failure, only it does not oozes atmosphere like it used to. See it for yourself after the jump.

I find it ironic that the SH series has always been quite the looker, and now it looks rather terrible.

I've heard that this team sucks. Which is really too bad since Silent Hill is one of my favorite series of games ever. At least part one, two and three...i guess The Room had some redeeming features, but it was decent at best. Origins i never tried, but from what i've heard it sucks too.

Oh well, even though hopes are low i guess i'll just have to wait and see.

ill never get over the opening in the fog with the staticy radio...sheesh, that was a great title, i hope this one doesnt get screwed over

twoism: it's still Konami, it's just not the same team that did the previous games. It's some new American studio...or so i've heard.

The best is SH2, I love that game so much :D just playing Origins (PSP) right now until SH5! You can get a little info on this video...yea, I know its a little old :P but still...

It looks too bright.

I sure hope The Collective can pull this off. Silent Hill is easily in my top 5 favorite game series and I would be a very angry if they can't keep the terrifying vibe that the other games had.

Apparently you've never seen a PS2 game before. While the game doesn't look top-notch, what's important is the atmosphere. Which, unfortunately, the screens seem to lack that, but it's tough to judge since seeing it in motion would be much better. Wouldn't mind some fog or vision obscuring mechanism to add to the atmosphere, everything's too clear and visible. Oh well, as long as it's not as bad as SH 4 then I'm game.
