Eidos released this first batch of images of Avalanche Studios' Just Cause 2, and it sure does look good. To be released sometimes in 2008 on PS3, 360 and PC.
Hehe, these screens say "hey look at me, i can look as good as crysis!". Looks fine to me (the smoke/explosions look great!). But they have to get rid of these tree-patterns in the background..
They really need to work on a few obvious gameplay elements from the first one.
For example, you shouldn't be stronger on foot than in any vehicle, sucks to sustain steady machine gun fire, and then get in a helicopter and get hit once and die when the heli explodes.

i dont think so. i'm not sure but these can be PC screenshots cause i don't believe a 360/PS3 can get graphics this good on a open ended game like this. if they can, then GTA IV has no excuse for its graphics. unless this game is all looks and has no content in it from these screenshots then i think it might work with this. if these are PC screenshots i would expect it to get better instead of downgrade.
but yes i'm sure we will see some very bad looking screenshots in the future.

sadly there was bearly anything to do content wise. im just hoping this is different, adding a snow capped mountain isnt going to distract me from glaring issues like having a 4 hour campaign and 300 side missions that where repetative as hell...as was the first game.
this can increase its graphics all it wants, but if it plays one iota like the first i want it as far away from me as possible. they also need to ditch the crappy lock on aiming system. made the game far too easy.

I'm going to have to agree here. I bought the game because the demo was amazing, only to find out that the demo had all the variations of missions in the entire game. I was definitely disappointed, and I'm hoping they add some serious content to this one, as it's got a TON of potential.
The first one had potential but it was just too flawed too be enjoyable, i hope they do better with this one.
And the enviroments look amazing as always.
Loved the first game but this looks mediocre. Almost no improvement in graphics, lots of low resolution textures. Seriously, I expect the game to look much better than this. The explosions and smoke are the worst of all, totally blocky just like Lost Planet.
