TTP sent us nothing less than 7 new videos of the multiplayer beta of Killzone 2, each showing one of the playable classes and the last one the spectator mode. Many thanks to all the NeoGAF members involved in recording this video, and especially FFObsessed who helped with everything!

it would change the gameplay, and guerilla have stated that it's staying that way, it's not a problem for me though.
i wish i was in the beta.
the "spectator mode" video was freaking awesome.

Looking great, I would also hardly say that the blur is too overt, not that noticeable at all. Good thing this will also feature bots as that is a great way to get used to maps and practice offline which too many shooters ignore.

The blurs needed to cover the lack of detailed textures. I have to admit that i wasnt blown away by the graphics of the beta at all. It has some nice lighting..which compliment the blur effect, but the dark muted colours, and lack of textures, just make it look scruffy.

I do like the feel of it though..everything has some "weight" behind it. And the sound (though not on the same level as battlefield bad company) is done very well.

I hope in the retail multiplayer they allow the first person cover ability

Yeah, the graphics are nice but the blur is needed to cover the lack of detail on textures. I see alot MGS4 textures around here, but It´s not a problem. I enjoyed MGS4, one of the best next gen games imo. Killzone will look very nice for sure, lighting effects are excelent. Hope to have a PS3 when Killzone 2 launches!

LOL at the blur comments. I wonder why there is blur in the single player campaign despite having better textures. I guess it's to hide the awesomeness. They must be hiding something!

lol, exactly, the blur isnt there to hide anything...its not like the game blurs when your stood still staring at how detailed a wall looks, the blur is there to convay a greater sense of motion and realism and give the game a far more cinematic feel. and i wouldnt change it for the world, its what makes the game look so much better then most. hell, playing games like R2 makes you miss the blur after playing the K2 beta. R2 is incredibly clean and crisp edged which is fine, but having a genuine sense of motion is far better imo.

the game doesn't seem to have frame-rate problems ( from all the stuff shown till now ), so why do they exagerate on the blurriness(motion-blur) some use to hide that?

To hide the shitty textures some say? But how the fuck you hide someting, by making all of the screen a big blob like you have somekind of wattery eyes? I can't start apreciatte the stuff they do to the lightnig and shadow occlusion technique they use, if the image is all messed up all the time.

Fuck texture quality, give me a vibrant image.

sorry can't edit my post.

The 2nd vid was ace, when clinton is on the turret and you see the barrel heating up then cool down is awesome, also when you dropped the becon for the flying thing the way they got the light to hit the ground texture is insane,it's as every rock is 3d,and if they are all 3d then that's even more impressive.

Lol,the scout looks insane, this game is the real deal isn't it, man I can't wait, but the way your turret dropped that dude, paused for a second then finished him was quality

I agree with korndog. There's a thing called peripheral vision, that is, a part of vision that occurs outside the very center of gaze, this means that when you are looking forward the center of where your looking is clear and the sides that compliment that image are burry. Basic optics, so don't moan at guerrila for making a realist game.

alot of people don't seem to get that due to the beta being seriously compressed, the textures won't be as high res as the final retail game. guerilla has assured that the single and multiplayer would be identical in terms of image quality(it was on last week's 1up yours podcast, right at the beginning). http://www.podtrac.com/pts/redirect.mp3?http://dow...

also, the game would stream entirely from the disc(no install), i'm very excited about this.

to all the people complaining about the motion blur and depth of field effects. just don't buy the game. no-one's forcing you, or cares.

THIS GAME IS GONNA PWN!!!!

Again with the textures nonsense, it's all bullshit. I actually like my games blurry rather than the clinically looking games you often see with high res textures, but everything else is flat. Blur might not always be done in a hyperrealistic manner, but I feel that games with plenty blur really help immerse you into the environments, if done properly.

Too bad this game suffers from "bland level design/art-disease" otherwise it could be a real looker. Still looks good though, it's just being held back by poor artistic design.

on last week's 1up yours podcast, shane also said that the full game isn't all bland as the beta. http://www.podtrac.com/pts/redirect.mp3?http://dow... from 00:08:30

Damn I LOVE this franchise, looks so badass!

The art design (sci-fi/ WW type), visuals, gameplay, story, weapons, music...all of it.

If Killzone 2 holds up (damn you beta random invite) to its hype from its beta footages (which from the videos I have analyzed) it seems to be great.

Anyways, definitely the only FPS I want so far.

Hahahaha "no textures". That's hilarious, one of the funniest yet moronic things i've heard someone ever say but apparently a lot of people desperately trying to find something to fault with the game are using that now. Jesus people, get a clue =)

Things I like:
-The multiplayer is looking quite good to be honest, but that's just from looking.\

-The graphics manage to look pretty badass, and the physics actually do something.

Things I don't like:
-The blur effects. They are obviously NOT trying to hide anything, but trying to simulate a "human-eye" effect. Well it doesn't work, it gets annoying very quick. They should tone it down a lot, the weapons are awesome detailed, they should show it.

-Too many effects, too many f**** effects. The whole screen turns blue-ish, then a grenade explodes and now the screen is blue-ish and red-ish, and then then a bunch of blue lines fill out the whole screen from top to bottom, and then all this mixed with the blur............and it is just too much. They have to tone it down, and I don't think it'll happen. This isn't all the time, but when it happens it's really bad. To see an example of this see the scout video.

Anyways, like I said before, this game is looking really good and as far as graphics people complaining should just simply be slapped. "The blurred textures!", come on, the game does much much more than that.

lulz. Your gun blurs slightly when you BREATH for god's sake. Stop hiding things with Contrast and darkness and grey and blur, please!

Basically this game is made almost entirely of effects/lighting. And its overload for your senses. And the MP is the only thing that actually looks FUN. lol because the single player stuff 've seen looks a bit meh at best.
