We finally get to see how Killzone: Mercenary looks with first gameplay trailer plus fresh screenshots from the PS Vita game. It will be out on September 17th. Update: 60fps trailer added.
Yup. I do hope its the awesome FPS the vita is caple of and needs, yet hasn't quite got right yet. Resistance was OK and COD was awful. It needs something truely awesome. Both bite sized and epic at the same time.
Guerrilla have said this is their biggest year EVER. I can't imagine they'd say that in regards to a single vita release. So my guess is we'll be seeing a killzone 4 this year. or maybe a new IP?
Im amazed Killzone is still in production, GG are clearly talented but Killzone has never actually been that great certainly not merited 6 games...Let GG make some new IP's Sony ffs!!

It still has the best shooting, with dice coming a close second with their BF series. Not my fave FPS, but definately my fave shooting. Feels so meaty. Helps the wold is so cool and gritty. They just need to do a decent story and it'd be perfect.
I really hope this ends up with a consistent framerate. It will be the first game I actually buy for the system most likely. It's still collecting dust on my desk along with my ps3. I also wish they had released this before the system was dead in the water... By September there may be nothing that can pull it back out of the abyss.
Looks great for a handheld. I really hope sony doesn't cockshot us again, the playstations always have great GPU's, but lack ram, which kills frame rates. I'd love, and i mean LOVE to see GG get the super system they deserve for KZ4.

Indeed, very meaty and realistic shooting without that cartoony CoD feel.
Man after seeing this I definetly want to get a PS-Vita but more importantly than that I really wish GG would also make an enhanced single player with MP version for PS3 that would so rock.

The system is dead in the water to your opinion... it doesn't change the fact that PS3s are still selling world wide and as are the games... if its collecting dust then you really don't know how to use your PS3 console.
I have a PS3 60GB which I bought way back in early 2007, and in early 2011 I disassembled to apply Artic Silver 5 thermal compound since GTA4 was the only game ramping up the fan speed... not only is the system quieter than current Xbox 360s, its quieter than my PC with GTX 285 and Phenom II X4 980, as a result it gets most of the use despite all other systems... and when I go and visit friends I teach them how to use their PS3s... many of them don't know how to use it for other things besides gaming...
Also it really sounds like you did not really play Killzone 2 or 3... or you would not be saying that considering console games, Killzone's frame rate is silky smooth in comparison, but you would only know that if you played it, yeah and that includes 3 despite the little sections where frame rate is not critical.
It actually doesnt look too bad..obviously not close to the detail it offers on the ps3 (those rumours of the vita having close to the graphical power of the ps3 were abit wide off the mark) but looks nice. Just not sure i'd really want to play a killzone game (or any fps...unless maybe something like portal) on a handheld. Maybe online would be a decent selling point as KZ3's online came on leaps and bounds over KZ2

But interms of KZ4, it should be for PS4.
