Developer Diary PC PS4 Xbox One

Warhorse Studios' title Kingdom Come: Deliverance is back with a new video to explain the RPG system and the armor layering system. The latter gives you a 16 slot layering system (+4 weapons slot) to let you fully customize your character. A beta is stil available for backers. The game will release next year.

Just amazing. I´m not sure, how it´s gonna end up, but still fantastic. I love, how the interface and clothing and just everything has the proper design of this era of my country. Armor layers are cool.........."...and you are bleeding, so you have to take it off and it will take forever, so you will die...".

Game looks absolutely amazing, but I hope they really do something about performance, because the beta runs like crap on pretty much every system.

Seems it's mostly a CPU problem, because fiddling with graphical options hardly makes any difference. I was running it on my i5 4690k@4,5ghz, still a pretty decent CPU and the framerate was all over the place between 20-50 fps.

How does anyone get hurt with all those layers of armour? There is even that metal tank like chest armour, nothing in that time period is going through that?

this is one of those games that never come out. And when they come out (IF they come out), come out broken.

A crossbow bolt for example... or a longbow arrow, or a spiked hammer. The swordfighters of that time often used the handguard as an option for piercing armor ( the helmet) aswell. The blade and tip was used to hit vulnerable spots like the neck, slits in the helmet for the eyes, the thighs or the arrmpit. Believe me, it was definitely possible :)

Oh I know it's possible, there have been many bloody battles. It was more I was thinking as I was watching the video if I was actually playing and walked up to a opponent with that much armour in the game I wouldn't know where to attack!

Like if I have a sword, it's not like I'm going to pierce the metal armour on his chest.

But yes, you drew out some valid points of weakness. And I suspect not everyone was that fully armoured, as I suspect it'll be a bitch to move in, let alone battle. Basically it just arouse my curiosity about the battles of that time and I will probably look into it more.

You can definately pierce an armour with a sword. Plus, with such armor, you lose so much movement speed.
Are you telling me a sword can go through a metal plate armour (what I specified)? Who is wielding the sword, Thor?

Thanks Zat by the way. I've spent my lunch watching those videos along with some reading and it mostly seems to be taking advantage of people's limited mobility and getting them in positions where gaps between the armour are easily attacked. I especially enjoyed people tripping each other up in some of those videos lol. Seems silly but actually very effective. I wonder if this game will have that kind of depth.

the whole purpose of amour is keep people from dying or losing limbs, people can die though if they receive a direct pierce through the face or through the eyes. in jousting knocking off the helmet is considered a strike in "bowling" logic, do to how fatal the action is if it was with a real sword or spear.

It just came to my mind, when I saw Your post. Its brutaly exhausting to fight in such gear, but its fun to watch them fighting. :-D
