Played the Demo last night and I couldn't believe that as a team you can go from top-of-your-game AAA PGR franchise to a somewhat lackluster and unpolished racing game.

And considering that it is going head-to-head with Split/Second I don't see too many people going completely bonkers in wanting this game over BlackRock's superior racing game. I say superior game while not even having played it but I am very sure that after PURE BlackRock certainly knows how to play into its forte. It certainly can't be worse that BLUR!

It does sadden me a bit because Bizzare Creations is the almost the founder of inner city racing games. Who can forget the KUDOS system. The first PGR on the dreamcast was a dream. PGR 3 on the XBox 360 was unrivaled!

Where are those trademark elements in BLUR? Maybe I shouldn't jump to any conclusions yet as this was only a DEMO. But if you can't EXCITE somebody with the DEMO version of your game than you have simply failed to convince him otherwise.

I was expecting a train wreck but I actually couldn't put the controller down. Really fun to play and easy to get into. Funny how games sometimes completely change your mind.

It's a beta, the point is to make the game better.

I'll be honest, I was very disappointed when news first hit about this game, but after playing the beta for a few weeks I can say the final product will be solid, it's very addictive and easy to pick up. Just have to wait for split second then decide which I will fork out my hard earned cash for.Troll much?

why are you here commenting on it, and it's subsequent posts, if it holds no interest to you at all?
Some of you kids on here are very strange when you're only interest in the game is to proclaim you're not interested.

I always thought the game looked abit lackluster ..but i still had an interest in trying it. And it's a free demo..why not give it a try? If only to leave abit of a more informed opinion on threads of games that you have no interest in.

I played it for the first time yesterday, no great expectations, and it really pleasantly surprised me. It looks alot nicer first hand, and is just plain fun.. the wipeout inspired powerups really lend themselves well to online racing.
You also get alot in the beta demo.. the destruction derby inspired mode is a welcome one - and again something that lends itself well to online gaming (they really need to make a pure destruction derby game this gen).

The demo's got some short comings, it's still officially classed as a beta after all. I really hope they sort out the car sounds abit, and visually the animations of the drivers are lacking. I'd also like to see some more power ups..as there might not be enough variety there.

It's got the style, it's fast, it's hectic, its full, and importantly..it's fun. Demo really changed my mind on it.. i still think split second will be my first preference, but i would definatly pick this up at some point.

why bother with a game if i KNOW i wont like it. i've gone against my better judgement with games before and all i've ended up doing is dissapointing myself. (PDZ anyone) i've avoided certain games for a reason, and granted, it's a relatively small list seeing as i rent games, but this is definately going to be one of them, and much like banjoe kazooie nuts and bolts, i dont think i'll be regretting that decission anytime soon. especially concerning blur seeing as split/second looks infinately better.

You really should give it a try. I'm sure you played the demo's of PDZ, and Banjo, to know not to put your money on them?

You like wipeout right? you've just been in the "whats up" box talking about how you prefer track based racers.. and how you'd like to see a destruction derby game. Why not try a demo that offers alittle bit of all those together?

this is gonna sound weird (not that surprising) but the game insults me. the art style is insutling, the lame power ups, the amount of blur. looking at this game genuinely pisses me off. playing this game (demo or retail) would be like going out of your way to go see a bad movie. you've seen trailers, you know it's full of z list actors, you've read reviews, you KNOW this movie is bad, but you're going to travel 6 miles into town to go see it in cinemas anyway....thats what it feels like. it feels like effort to even download the demo...effort i dont feel the game deserves.

if i play the demo all it will do is add fuel to this fire and i'll be bitching about it even more. it's probably best if i just pretend the game doesnt exist. it'll be better for you guys since you wont have to read my ramblings, and it's better for me since my blood pressure stays low.

At least you'd have a more stable platform to stand on with your argument on why you hate this game if you actually played it.

this isnt an argument, far from it, it's an opinion, a statement from the heart (really...lol) the argument came when people didnt accept it and move on. instead they argued againt it. i'm here to share my thoughts, just like anyone else, my thoughts just happen to be on the negative side when it comes to this game in particular. i'm not here to change people's minds about the game, some like it, some dont, i dont care. i'm just commenting on it. some people dont seem to be able to accept that.

I played it. I like it a lot. Looks good, sounds good and controls well.

But all those who have shared their thoughts on the game whether positive or negative have played it and are drawing their impressions from a hands on experience. If you don't like it you don't like it but try to be a little bit more open minded and try it before offering such an adamant opinion on something you haven't even touched.

KORNdog please stop, nobody is going to understand your logic (or rather lack of) so stop trying to explain yourself, if you don't want to play it and make an informed decision then thats your loss, stop making it out like its a huge deal. It's not.

I think it looks reasonable and is supposed to have lots of AI cars too. I do not like Split second one bit. This looks slightly better than it I guess

Looks better than it did back then, but with games in the same ballpark like Split Second coming up, I don't know if this game has much going for it.

I had zero interest until I tried the demo. I was suprised when I realised that I was still playing ten rounds later. Pretty darn addicting, and it feels more strategic in use of its powers. I also like that you can counter certain attacks...

Is the demo amazing, in a word, no. BUT, I will say it surprised me in that I didn't expenct it to be much fun at all (i usually HATE racers with powerups) but I did have a little fun with it. that being said, while it was fun enough to warrant a rental, I will say I can't see myself ever spending more than $20 on the game.

The game is really good. Put in 30hrs since it first hit. I just want the full game now with it's 30 tracks.
