Fourth pic. That graphic with isometric view - that would make perfect syndicate sequel. One can dream..... Anyway I agree with Digi, they need to release a sp demo.

they struggled with dark athena and even darkness sales wise. this probably wont sell well just like 99% of games dont recently. i can imagine it'll be lucky to break a million. successive failure tends to lead to the closure of a studio. hell, just ONE failure can do that. just look at free radical, bizzare creations, pandemic etc etc.

this game is fighting an uphill battle. they need to be critically successfull, and then get enough interest to sell millions (not easy even with great reviews) it's in an oversaturated market sitting alongside battlefield and COD (games people are reluctant to move away from no matter how good the competition) i just dont see it doing very well, just like so many other games didnt and dont.

as a publisher, how many chances do you give a developer to make something that makes enough money to not only cover development costs, but earns a profit?

i just dont see anything here that is going to capture people's attention, it's already pissed off the syndicate fans since it's nothing like syndicate, and it doesnt look that special as a stand alone FPS either? so who is this aimed at exactly?

i think it will sell poorly (despite having a known brand behind it) and i think it COULD force starbreeze to close their doors. could be wrong. who knows. just my 2 cents

Even if Starbreeze goes under which is highly likely, it won't be because the game is bad as was Free Radical and Pandemic's case.

i find it painfull to this day that freeradical went down because of 1 game, haze was meh yeah, but enough to destroy them is madness considering how many people LOVE timesplitters and how well they sold, i think it must be due to bad organization of there money more than anything, sounds to me they put all there eggs in one basket.. and if so its not hazes fault or the devs, more the people in charge of the devs.

true, it'll instead be for creating a game aimed at very few people becasue they didnt judging the market.

I'm not keen on their stuff but the setting at least means i'll keep an eye on it. A proper Syndicate could exist in fps though which is a shame. I think it will struggle though but i hope it delivers past most people's expectations at least

Coop could retain some of that same original feel in a way and to be honest, i imagine that was the thinking somewhat anyway with multiplayer maybe a priority. I'm more into single player though

I do like the look of this so will definitely not just blindly dismiss it. The line up of characters seems a bit desperate but that's probably more how they presented them in the video

It sounds like if you want it to happen.

If The Darkness didn't killed them this won't either, this game will have some good to great sales IMO.

Looks great.

with EA's marketing behind it, and a slow feb gaming month, i reckon it should find no trouble hitting a million sales.... but i think EA will be looking for atleast 3mill not to consider it a failure.

I cant see this getting beyond 8's in the reviews but aslong as its around that area we could be in for a treat....i'm far more interested in Prey 2 and Xcom for my fps sci-fi needs this year.

The change in direction of Prey is something i really like- i wasn't keen on the first game despite i'm sure it being decent. Bladerunner feel is my thing i guess

EA's marketting isnt something i'd use as a reason for this to succeed tbh. Hell, they tend to cram media down our throat for games that would do well regardless, such as battlefield 3. But they'll effectively leave some titles for dead despite needing it the most (strangers wrath, mirrors edge, to some extent dead space) this game screams 'non-priority' to me. I dont have much hope for xcom or prey 2 either tbh. I think they'll flop just as hard as this for much the same reasons. Mainly that both are using an IP's title yet look and play nothing like the games people are actually fans of.

I dunno. Just dont see them doing all that well. I think bioshock infinate will be the better reviewed and commercially successfull title of these fantasy, sci-fi quirky shooters. Time will tell.

And also the worse gunplay of them all if the first is indicative of that.

So why are you hyped for this? Starbreeze have yet to make a game with satisfying gunplay. It always behaves and plays like an afterthought? One of many reasons i have no hope for this title.

I liked Butcher bay and The Darkness.

But you know I think is a little subjective what you want from the gunplay department, I think Singularity gunplay is better than Rage, CoDs, Halos and so forth so maybe I like different things in that aspect.

This game like I say looks good to great, Starbreeze haven't disappointed me.
