If, like us, you sometimes get a bit fed up with the buzz that goes with all the AAA titles out there, if you're interested in what the indie scene has to offer, then Lifeless Planet might be worth checking out. As impatient as we are to try the game ourselves, we still have to be patient as no release date has been given yet. All we know is that David Board's title will be available on PC, Mac and mobile platforms - and that there is a chance it appears on Xbox Live if it's successful enough. With iconic games such as Out of this World, The Dig, ICO and LIMBO in mind, David Board is working with a very small team and his ambition with Lifeless Planet is to deliver a good story built around solid gameplay mechanics based on exploration and puzzles. We don't know about you, but we love the concept behind this upcoming indie title. Make sure to have a look at the game's official website when you get a chance.
Update: David Board himself sent us a good quality version of the game's trailer, many thanks to him for this :)

looks really interesting, especially since most of it was made by one guy. I like games like this, so definitely looking forward to trying this out

If it is made by one guy then it may be worth it.

Most of the things I do all alone are the best.

Because everything is done as the one person desires.

And if the person is a perfectionist and good at what its doing, then the results often are really good.

Or the flipside to that coin is that it could be very shit because that one person doesn't have an outside view of what he's doing and thinks that what he/she is doing is the dogs balls, when in fact it might not be. This is entertainment, and in entertainment you have to consider your audience, not what makes you happy.

Yeah, if you're making a AAA game with a $50 million budget with plenty of investors and shareholders breathing down your neck with expectations. Not if you're just an indie developer who just wants to make a game you'd like to play (and hopefully an audience for it).

With a bigger budget, surely that means an even bigger emphasis to target a demographic to get it selling.
