Xbox 360

Paradox Interactive, developers of Hearts of the Iron and Europa Universalis series, announced earlier this year that they've acquired the Majesty brand and that a sequel will be released next year on PC. The Xbox 360 version has now been confirmed, so here are a couple of images and some info about the game, Majesty 2. Paradox is teaming up with 1C:Ino-Co for possibly both versions.

Paradox Interactive fact sheet:
In the world of Majesty, you are the ruler of the kingdom. At your service are your loyal and somewhat obnoxious subordinates, who have their own minds about how things should be done.

In fact, Majesty is the only game where your heroes decide on their own what should be done and when, leaving you to try to control them through monetary incentives.

Features
Play through 4 different campaigns with more than 15 missions, as well as a stand-alone sandbox mode and a variety of multiplayer maps.
Build the fantasy city of your dreams and experience an engaging world, but beware: monsters are waiting to lay siege to your domain.
Defend your realm with noble Warriors, spell-wielding Wizards or wild Barbarians. Choose from more than 10 different classes to oversee the protection of your lands.
Characters will develop in completely different ways, making every hero unique.
Gamespy multiplayer for up to 4 players over LAN or Internet, including support for ranking ladders and tournaments.

Majesty 2 – The Fantasy Kingdom Sim will follow closely in the footsteps of the original game as well as bringing all key elements up to date.
The charm and humor that made fans out millions of gamers worldwide will remain at the core of the title along with the indirect control aspect of the game.

Here's an interview with Paradox btw:

I wonder how far away the X360 version is. I found some older (August) press releases and the X360 version was mentioned back then, as well as a DS version.

I'm all for deep strategy games on 360 if they're done well. Although Hearts of Iron is too deep IMO. I can't understand how anyone can get into that game in particular.

Anyways, great to see the 360 scooping up more of the PC market, if for nothing more than saving developers that might be put under by piracy.

No its like, you rule a castle and build blacksmith shops and stuff, then you can hire "heroes" to roam your lands, and set waypoints (which is actually quests) to get them to do stuff at their own leasure.

Such as attacking the troll that is destroying your castle, and put a reward on that quest. The heroes may instantly seek to complete it and claim the reward, or they may ignore it and do their own thing somewhere else :P

They get their armor and weapons from your blacksmith, and stuff. So think of it like you are in charge of one of the villages you usually visit to do quests and trade in WoW, Diablo or such games. And the heroes are npcs.

Its a wierd type of game.
