Video PC Xbox 360 PS3

It's Infinity Ward's turn to release a new video of one of the most awaited game of the year: Modern Warfare 2. And this time it's a video showing a quite eventful CTF game, followed by a very good news for multiplayer fans.
Update: Activision sent us a very high quality version of the video, and I'm sure fans of the game will love how good this one looks!

is it just me or is this site getting worse and worse at streaming...? Even tho its buffered ahead my streams stops sumtimes for no reason. 5 sec each time and then continues. Oo

if i restart the video it doesnt stop where it stopped before. But when it gets close to the buffering bar it stops again. -.-

i think it's a problem with MIG69 (the videos are hosted by them) not Gamersyde.

yep.. that was the best part of the trailer for me. The host ending the game, generally because he was losing, has always been an annoyance.

Still wish this game was 4player co-op though - that would sell me on it. As it is, i'm probably the only gamer in the world where this isnt yet on my "must have" list

Don't need host migration with dedicated servers ;)

Awesome trailer.. I'm so glad to see CTF return to Call of Duty (again).

Any idea what happens to the flag when the carrier drops it? I used to play a lot of TeamFortressClassic and I liked it that when you dropped the flag it stayed there for 30 seconds (or so), the home team couldn't return it. This made for some strategic planning, defend the flag or the base where the flag returns. In UT I believe you only have to touch the flag and it returns, makes for a quicker game, but I've never been a fan of the method. Especially when you drop the flag inches from your own cappoint.

Looks good, but I'm already having problems playing Counter-Strike:Source decently (average of 13fps), so this game will have to go on the big "after the hardware update" pile. Which is getting ridiculously high.

That was a great video, but I can't imagine having such an amazing flag run in a real game.

Capture the flag?
Yes, but in DoD it was all about pushing for all the flags and capturing ground, rather than holding them for a set amount of time for points.

CTF was never about holding the flags for points.. that's called Domination in COD4. Capture the flag is about capturing flags and returning them to your base :P

It's in COD1/2 (and like.. every other FPS ever).. I'm not sure why they didn't include it in COD4.

Looks nice.. Not a huge upgrade from CoD4 (still same engine), but still nice with a bit more physics etc (can be a lot better imho, but I guess we have to see a next-gen console for that first)..

Various styles, though. Capturing and returning the flag is more of a Quake thing. Capturing or protecting ground was a big feature of the gameplay in DoD. It's been ages since I played that game and was confused as some maps required S&D type objectives. Anyway, I liked some of the linear bottleneck map designs of the CTF maps in DoD, as it resulted in some frenetic gameplay at times, requiring actual teamwork and strategy with the weapons, something I feel CoD lacked in its CTF games.

Atleast this way we know that those who play COD4 on PC doesn't need big of an upgrade, or upgrade at all for MW2.
I can play COD4 all maxed out with some AA and 1680x150 (my native) resolution and have it on 58-61 FPS all the time, even when its intense, so I am geared up when I pick up the game.

Capturing the flag and returning it is what CTF is.. if there's a different objective it tends to have a different name. I'm not saying it's called something different in Day of Defeat, but it probably should be. Capturing ground in Battlefield, by capturing flags, is called Conquest for example; In Call of Duty 4, it's called Domination. Regardless of what it's called, CTF as you see it here is the more traditional game mode where you pick up a flag and return it to a capture point. That's not just a Quake thing -- it's in Unreal Tournament, Call of Duty, Tribes, Halo, Team Fortress and many more games.
