Why is that in these guitar hero-ish games the devs feel like they can get away with weak tech? the fans don't care?

Looks great. These are shots of the newly announced multiplayer mode which kinda took me by suprise. When I was reading up about it, it did remind me of the Future Cop LAPD multiplayer, building units, forward bases, yet you were down on the battlefield.....love that game. Will be interesting to see how this MP turns out

these screens are from the multiplayer. there is a trailer showing multiplayer combat in action (mix of overlord and vikings)
